I'm a big advocate of just blocking and moving on when seeing bad takes about your interests but that's mostly because I rarely travel outside the small circle of artists and mutuals I follow and ohhhh boy after having seen the worst take about a beloved blorbo I suddenly understand everything, it was like a redditer overtook my body and I almost went into a rage as I resisted the urge to "um actually" and type up an entire essay in ops comment section but I persevered. Are you all proud of me.
#im mostly being hyperbolic but gosh#it's still eating me up inside so i will continue to complain about it here in the tags lol#so just scroll away if you don't wanna see me complain about things that don't matter<3#anyway i just saw someone say how karlach worked dorna slaver and would still be working for him if he hadn't betrayed her#implying she was only against gortash because his actions directly affected her#when FIRST IF ALL SHE WAS AN ORPHANED CHILD WHO WAS MANIPULATED BY HIM#AND SHE EVEN SAID IN HER OWN WORDS THAT SHE NEVER WOULD HAVE WORKED FOR GORTASG IS SHE HAD KNOWN WHO HE TRULY WAS#SHE WAS A KID AND WORKED FOR AN AWFUL MAN AND MOST LIKELY DID SOME PRETTY MESSED UP THINGS FOR HIM THIS IS TRUE#BUT SHE WAS A CHILD AND SHE LOOKED UP TO HIM WHILE HE MANIPULATED HER SO SHE WOULD ALWAYS PROTECT HIM AND DO WHAT HE SAID WITHOUT QUESTION#then he sold her to zariel and it wasn't until it was too late did she realize how evil gortash was#im unsure if she new he was a slaver when working for him but since she was a kid with nothing it's not like she's going to fully commit to#being a morally upstanding citizen when she literally couldn't afford it#saying karlach was only against gortash because his action affected her is BLATANTLY WRONG#she has flaws and is a deeply written characters and she cares so much about other people thats on of the reasons she worked with gortash#she cared about him and he used that to his advantage#okay rant over i love u karlach im sorry people refuse to look into your charcter beyond surface level assumptions </3#babbles#dear god there are so many typos. i aint retyping all that shit tho good luck deciphering that#i say as if anyone is gonna read it sjkdkf

♡ bitchy!pogue!reader brings a friend to tanneyhill..
warnings: sex work, threesome (m + f + f), face sitting, oral (f. receiving), unprotected sex, a little but of wlw
a/n: i’m really nervous about posting this fic in particular because it’s my first time writing smut with another woman so please give me some grace!
“how the fuck did you even discover this place?!” topper ran his hands through his hair, his jaw falling slack as his eyes danced around the room full of pretty girls prancing around in trashy lingerie and heels. ‘pink sugar’ was by far the most attended to strip joint on the cut— and it showed. as soon as any patron walked in, they were immediately hit with a whirlwind of cheap perfume, body glitter, and sparkly lipgloss. it was every man’s wet dream come true.. including rafe’s.
“life on figure eight gets stale after a while, bro. sometimes you just gotta expand a little bit, y’know?” topper nodded even though the words that rafe just said went in one ear and right out the other. the two of them took a seat in front of the main stage, a waitress wasting no time in getting their drink orders taken up to the front. while rafe had been here a handful of times, topper was like a kid in a candy store as he sat in awe.
meanwhile, you were getting ready in the locker room, both you and your best friend sticking rhinestones around each other’s eyes as you two waited to be called out by the dj for your turn to perform. “it better be a full house tonight.. i already have my eyes on these shoes, and there’s no way in hell i’m not getting them.” you cursed under your breath, running a pink comb through your hair to make sure everything looked perfect.
just as you adjusted the garter straps of your stockings, you heard your name being announced to the crowd outside. “good luck out there!” your bestie called out behind you, a giggle leaving your lips as you waved. even though you were more than familiar with the atmosphere already, you couldn’t help the thumping of your heart everytime you walked out from behind the curtains and felt the burning stares from the hungry men in the audience against your skin.
you smiled sweetly, the lights dimming just in time for you to lock eyes with two guys in the front. one looked laid back, his gaze raking down your figure as he drank from his glass, and the other looked like he couldn’t believe you were real. you knew right away he was a first timer by the way he leaned forward in his seat. pretending no one else was in the room, you started dancing, the floor already being littered with various dollar bills.
you tuned out the whistles and the hollering and focused on only the music, your set going by faster than you thought. with only one more song left on your list of requests, you stepped down from the stage, your hips swaying as you walked over to the two men you saw when you first came out. snaking your hands down the chest of the one with a buzz cut, you kneeled between his thighs before feeling him over his lap, his jaw clenching as he watched you intently.
rafe knew as soon as you looked up at him with something a little more than just lust in your eyes, he was going to have to take you away from here, your glossy lips shining underneath the neon lighting of the club. originally coming out to pre-game for the rager rafe was throwing tonight at tanneyhill, he figured he’d get the party going early with you looking so fucking pretty between his legs. he didn’t get to dwell on the sight for too long before you left him alone just as the song ended.
flashing him a wink, rafe watched you disappear backstage, the adam’s apple in his throat bobbing as he swallowed thickly. blinking out of his trance, rafe told topper he would be right back with more drinks before making his way over to the bar. “excuse me,” rafe motioned the bartender over, “do you know how i can talk to the girl that was just on stage?” he asked. “y/n? she usually comes out and converses with the crowd when she’s done with a set, she’ll be out here soon.”
quickly ordering three rounds of shots, rafe made his way back over to his seat only to see you and a friend of yours already over there laughing at something topper was saying. “—oh, here he is now..” topper laughed nervously, taking the tray of shots out of rafe’s hands as you two shared a look. “you talking about me?” his voice alone gave you butterflies, his tall form making you pull your bottom lip between your teeth.
“don’t worry he didn’t say anything bad..” kitty, your best friend, teased. rafe looked over at her, his eyes wandering down her own sexy get-up. fixing his gaze back on you, rafe leaned down to whisper in your ear. “do you do personal parties?” he all but groaned once he smelled your sugary sweet skin, the sound shooting straight down to your panties. “personal parties?” you repeated, “it’s gonna cost you.” rafe scoffed, not worried about the money.
“give me a number.” he placed a gentle hand on the small of your back, pulling you close. you and kitty side glanced one another, a smile gracing your lips as your nails snaked around the buckle of his belt. “what kind of party?” you asked, making sure you were aware of what you were getting yourself into before agreeing to anything. “i’m throwing a house party tonight on figure eight, all of my friends are big spenders.. just putting that out there.”
you thought it over for a moment, a small part of you feeling intimidated since you weren’t familar with figure eight, nor did you know anyone that lived on that side of the island. “ten thousand, and i get to bring my friend over here.” you nodded towards kitty who was already sitting in topper’s lap. “perfect. do you need a second to get your things? i can take both of you straight over there.” you hummed at his words, silently signaling kitty to meet you in the back.
she excused herself from topper, both of you walking closely with each other to the locker rooms. “so what are we doing?” she was quick to touch up her makeup, changing out of her dancing shoes and into some platform heels. “that guy out there is willing to give me ten thousand to go to a party he’s having on figure eight, but if you come with me we’ll split it, plus he said his friends were ‘big spenders’, so that’s five thousand each excluding tips.”
without having to say another word, kitty was immediately on board, both of you squealing excitedly before grabbing your purses from your lockers. following the guys out of the club, you allowed rafe to open the passenger door for you, topper and kitty filing in the back before rafe started up his truck. he put on his music loud enough for you to feel the bass in your chest, a mix of excitement and anticipation swirling in your tummy.
you didn’t know what you were expecting to pull up to, but a mansion as huge as rafe’s definitely wasn’t on your list of possibilities. there was cars already filling the streets, people lining the gates of the house as rafe parked in the driveway, his arms wrapping around your waist as he helped you get down from the truck. you and kitty waited for him to start letting people in before leading both of you through the front door, topper following closely behind.
“i just need you two to cater towards my people, alright? these guys don’t know what a good time really looks like and i want y’all to be the ones to show them, ‘sound good?” just as he was going to send you and kitty off to the living room, you stopped him. “we need to get paid before we do anything.” rafe glanced between you and your bestie and nodded. “of course, why don’t you two follow me upstairs and we can get that out of the way?”
doing as you were told, you and kitty both looked around the house as he lead both of you to the master bedroom. “it’s in here.” he welcomed you two in, doing a quick sweep of the hallway before locking the door behind him. taking a seat on the huge bed, you and kitty watched as rafe took a metal briefcase out of his closet and entered a pin for it to unlock. looking up, rafe admired both of you as kitty ran her fingers through your hair, a smile adorning your lips as she did so.
both of you were so unremarkably gorgeous, it was hard for him to count money as you two giggled with each other. while fixing one of the rhinestones on kitty’s face, she was staring at the body glitter on your cleavage, running a finger over the sparkly dust. “are you trying to cop a feel?” you teased, moving your hand to rest on her thigh. rafe’s jaw clenched at the sight. “maybe..” kitty laughed, both of you leaning into each other as your hands wandered further up underneath her skirt.
rafe cleared his throat, both of you snapping out of whatever this was. “this is the money right here,” he held up the stacks of cash for you two to see, “however, both of you seemed to have piqued my interest..” glancing at each other confusingly, you and kitty waited for rafe to explain. walking over to the chair that sat in the corner of the room, he took a seat. “take each other’s clothes off.” at this, you felt your heart starting to beat in your ears.
sharing a look, you and kitty had the same nervous expression written all over your faces. “for ten more grand, can you beautiful ladies let me watch?” you had to refrain from letting your jaw drop to the floor, your stomach flipping at the new offer. kitty scooted closer to you, her hand shielding her mouth as she whispered in your ear. “what do you think?” blinking, you stole a glance at the full brief case that sat on the hardwood desk against the wall.
“i think he can do better than ten thousand dollars..” you whispered back, your faces just mere inches away from each other’s. “make it fifteen.” you looked over at rafe, shrugging off your coat to reveal your outfit from earlier. “how about twenty?” kitty swore you could hear her heart beating out of her chest. “tell him it’s a deal.” she whispered, getting up from her spot on his bed. “we’ll do it.” with his cock already stirring in his pants, he leaned back in his seat as you and kitty pressed a soft kiss to each other’s lips.
stepping out of your heels, you snaked your fingers behind kitty’s top, her hands resting on the globes of your ass as you untied the strings to her sequined bra. you and kitty have been best friends for as long as you can remember, you two literally started dancing at pink sugar together, there was nothing that you two hadn’t seen of each other already. “are you okay?” she spoke low so rafe couldn’t hear. humming softly, you kissed her again, allowing her to slip off the lace material of your underwear.
rafe swallowed thickly, his eyes traveling over your naked figure. despite there being two of you, he found himself zeroed in on only yourself, your stare holding his as kitty kissed down your neck. “should we include him?” you whispered against her skin, running your palms down her side. “you like him, don’t you?” she giggled. you blinked slowly, refraining from smiling as you hummed quietly. “go get him.” rafe shifted his weight in his chair as you walked over, carefully straddling his lap.
“me and kitty want to share you..” you ran your hands over his chest before undoing the buttons of his shirt, the sight of his toned stomach encouraging you to do away with his belt next. rafe watched you as you palmed him through his pants, his tongue poking out to run over his bottom lip. taking his hand in yours, you helped him stand up on his feet before getting him out of his clothes and leading him to where you and kitty were.
laying him down, rafe looked at the two of you as each of you kneeled on either sides of him. “tell us what you want us to do.” kitty stroked his inner thigh while you took his cock in your hand, a strangled groan rumbling from his chest at your touch. his chest rose and fell while he took a moment to think. “i want kitty on my face and you on my cock.” he looked at you with hooded eyes, your head moving in kitty’s direction. “whatever you want, handsome.”
you and your best friend held hands as if to hold onto each other for leverage, her mouth falling open as rafe skillfully circled her entrance with his tongue, her hips moving smoothly so the tip of his nose was nudging her clit with every stroke. you on the other hand, could barely keep up with his thrusts as he stuffed you full, your moans bouncing off of his bedroom walls. “fuck, he feels so good.” you whimpered, nearly doubling over as he started thrusting from underneath you even harder.
kitty’s head hung low in defeat as she rode rafe’s face, her thighs trembling around his head as he licked and sucked at her soaked cunt. you clenched around him, squeezing him tightly as he groaned in response. kitty was speechless at the whole ordeal, her eyes rolling far back into her head as rafe held onto her thighs so she couldn’t get away from him. “oh, god—!” kitty gasped, her chest rising and falling as rafe pushed her over the edge, her hands dropping from yours in order to dig her nails into his skin.
rafe cursed when he felt the stinging sensation, your hips still moving as he loosened his grip on kitty’s thighs. he kept up his ministrations until your best friend got off of him with a squeal, overstimulation setting in as she laid next to him still going through the aftershocks of her orgasm. rafe licked his lips clean, wasting no time in sitting up against his headboard, his hands grabbing onto the globes of your ass so he could bounce you on top of him.
you buried your face in his chest, the scent of his cologne only adding to your cock drunk state. “you’re so fucking tight, holy shit—” he tugged on your earlobe with his teeth, your clit meeting his pubic bone as kitty took a seat behind you, her hands coming around to cup your tits as she moved your hair to one side of your shoulders to expose your neck. holding your head up, you shuddered when you felt her lips on your skin, her teeth nipping the sensitive flesh there.
you were a mess by the time rafe’s hips started bucking, kitty’s lips finding yours as you came with a cry, his moans echoing in your ears as he pulled you against his chest. you clenched around him as he came inside of you, his cum painting your insides as he panted. letting out a sigh, rafe thumbed your chin, both of you sharing a heated kiss before kitty got up and helped you slide off of him. “you okay?” she asked, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear. “yes, are you?” kitty nodded, both of you slipping back on your clothes.
rafe watched as you two cleaned yourselves up, his hand motioning towards the money. “it’s all there..” he trailed off, “kitty you think i can get a word alone with y/n here?” grabbing her stack, she nodded before going into the bathroom, leaving you and rafe alone together. “i want you to come back tomorrow, ‘spend the weekend with me.” you bit your lip, glancing over at the bathroom door. “i don’t know if kitty will be busy—”
“no, just you,” he cut you off, “i want you by yourself.”

Word Count: 16.4k
A/N:
Please read part 1 first if you haven’t yet! I worked so hard on this one so I’m excited to have the finished thing posted for you guys! Thanks again to the besties @punkrockmlchael @the-witty-pen-name @lesservillain @glassbxttless 💕
Friday came much too soon. You dressed nice for school, not bothering to hide the belly. You wore a little dress that showed off your figure, and a pair of boots. Steve smiled when he saw you, his eyes roaming your body.
“You look beautiful,” he said as you climbed into his car. “They’re probably going to like you more than they like me.”
School had become hell. It helped that Steve had your back. Steve was getting much less shit than you were. In fact, most of the guys at school thought he was something of a legend. But when you were alone, your classmates were vicious.
Someone you never expected to find comfort in was Carol Perkins.
“Talk to her like that again and I’ll kick your ass.”
It was seemingly out of nowhere. One second some kids were making rude comments, then the next thing you knew Carol slid up beside you, linking her arm in yours and telling them off. You were confused as she stepped off with her head held high, taking you with her.
“Um…”
“Don’t worry about it,” she said. “I’m not gonna let anyone give you shit.”
It wasn’t long before you were spending most every minute of your day with either Carol or Steve. Even Steve was a little skeptical of Carol’s intentions, but she seemed sincere.
And she wasn’t as bad as you, Nancy, and Barb had thought. She was sweet - something you never thought you’d say - and she was funny. And she really did have your back. She even stared down Nancy giving you dirty looks in chem.
After school Friday, you followed Steve out to his car just like every day. Only neither of you were taking this lightly. You’d finally be meeting the Harringtons, and Steve had appropriately scared you for the dinner.
“Just letting you know, they’re awful,” he said, talking with his hands as he drove. “Like, really awful. My dad is an ass. My mom just lets him. It’s a whole thing.”
He was doing nothing to help your ‘meeting the parents’ nerves. “Are they really that bad?”
“They’re pretty bad.” He sighed. “I think they’re trying to make an effort, though. They want you and the baby to be around. They’re actually a little excited for their first grandchild.”
You smiled a little at that, hand resting on your belly. It was evident through your clothes and you didn’t attempt to hide it now. “I hope they like me.”
“They probably will,” he said. “Like I said, probably more than they like me.”
You were surprised at just how nice the Harrington’s house was. Steve pulled into the driveway of a gorgeous two story home with a large pool in the back. He gave you a nervous smile and squeezed your hand like well, here we go.
You walked hand in hand to the front door, Steve letting himself in. The smell of dinner hit you immediately, making your mouth water - was that steak? - and your stomach rumbled.
“Hungry?” Steve laughed.
“Starving,” you admitted.
“Well, good. I’m sure my mom cooked a feast.”
As you walked into the kitchen, a well dressed woman stood over the stove, her hair pulled back tightly. A man in a suit was leaning against the island bar, talking to her. They both looked over as you and Steve walked in, and the woman gave you a polite smile.
“Steve,” she said. “So this must be…”
Steve said your name for you, introducing you to both his parents. “This is my mom and dad.”
“It’s nice to meet you,” his mother said, reaching for your hand. “I’m Melissa.”
You took her hand and smiled politely as you shook it. You waited for his father to introduce himself, but he said nothing. Finally, his mother spoke up again. “And this is Richard, Steve’s father.”
You could feel their gazes drop to your stomach immediately as you dropped your arm. You suddenly wanted to cover up, wishing you had worn the sweatshirt again, but it was too late for that now.
Steve surprised you by reaching over and placing a hand on your stomach, too. He looked at you like you were the only person in the room. “Are you okay?” he asked, quiet enough for only you to hear.
You nodded, giving him a grateful smile. “I’m okay.”
Steve’s hand lingered protectively on your belly for a moment longer before he moved, turning back to face his parents. “So…what’s for dinner?”
Dinner turned out to be steaks, with mashed potatoes and green beans on the side. Your stomach growled with hunger as you eyed the food being placed on the table - eating for two was correct, because you had been infinitely hungrier the past few months.
You all took a seat at the table, Steve’s dad sitting at the head of the table with his wife next to him, Steve on the other side with you at the end of the table. You were so relieved it was time to eat, it distracted you from your nerves as you dug into your plate.
“So,” Steve’s mother began, looking at you. “Steve tells us you’re very smart.”
You blushed, looking over at Steve, who smiled sheepishly at you. “I…I’m in some advanced classes, yes.”
“College plans?” she asked, almost as if she had forgotten about the pregnancy entirely.
Your heart sunk in your chest. “I was planning to go to Emerson. But now…”
An awkward silence settled over the room. The only sounds to be heard were the dishes clinking together as you all ate. It was Steve’s dad who spoke next. “What do the two of you plan to do about all this?” he asked, getting straight to the point as he gestured between you and Steve.
You froze again, but Steve spoke up. “What do you mean, dad?”
“I mean,” he said, looking sternly at both of you. “I don’t think either of you understand the gravity of the situation you’re in.” He looked at you. “You’re an only child, yes?”
“Yes,” you confirmed.
“And so are you,” he said to Steve. “So, what do either of you know about babies? And how hard it will be to take care of one?”
No one said anything. You weren’t sure if there was anything to be said to that.
“Not only that,” he continued, “but how will you support yourselves and a baby?”
He was asking questions you truly didn’t know the answer to. “I was thinking I could-“ Steve began, but his father cut him off.
“Thinking you could work for me?”
“Well, yeah,” he said. “We had talked about it-“
“Son, you’re welcome to come work with me. But you’re on your own. This child is your responsibility, I expect you to take care of both the baby and her.”
Steve looked at you. He reached over the table and took your hand. “I can do that.”
His father nodded. “Good.” Another beat of silence. “Do you both plan to finish school?”
“Yes,” you said quickly. “The baby won’t be born until after graduation, so…”
“Yeah, we’re both going to finish the year,” Steve said. He looked at you. “She still wants to go to college, maybe…after the baby is born,”
You nodded. “Yeah…if I can.”
“That’s good,” Steve’s mother said, giving you a smile. “I’m glad you have big dreams and ambitions.”
You weren’t sure if she was proud of you, or thought you were naive. “Community college, at least.”
“How far along are you?” she asked.
“15 weeks.”
Steve’s parents’ eyes widened. “Almost halfway there,” his mom said, her voice nervous. “We didn’t realize it was that far along.”
Steve’s hand rested on your knee beneath the table.
“She’s been taking good care of herself,” he said. “Going to all her appointments, taking her vitamins.”
“Well that’s the bare minimum, isn’t it, son?” his dad said.
Steve clenched his jaw. He looked like he wanted to argue, but didn’t. “She’s doing a good job.”
“Look, son,” he said. “There’s a lot more to having a baby than just having it. You have to worry about diapers, formula if she doesn’t or can’t breastfeed, clothes and supplies-“
“Dad, I know.”
“I don’t know that you do.” His father’s stern voice commanded the entire room. You felt extremely uncomfortable. “I can’t believe you, son. You’re a Harrington. And look at the mess you’ve gotten yourself into.”
“Richard-“ his mother said, but he kept talking as if she hadn’t said anything.
“You’re barely 18 years old. Still in high school. And now you’ve got some girl pregnant?” You felt so small at that - some girl - you shrunk into yourself, wishing you could disappear.
“Dad.”
“No, Steve, I don’t want to hear it. You’ve disgraced this family. You’ve embarrassed not only me, but your poor mother as well. Do you know how you’re being talked about down at the clubhouse? It’s humiliating for both me and your mother.”
Steve gripped his fork tightly. He thought about stabbing it into his father’s hand. “Those people do nothing but gossip anyway-“
“Steven!” he snapped. Steve jumped at the sound of his government name, feeling like a child again as he shrunk under the harsh gaze of his father. “You are not to talk to me that way. Do you want a job with me to take care of your little family or not?”
Silence. “I do.”
“Then act like it.”
“Yes, sir.”
It was almost disturbing to see Steve give up like that. You felt terrible for him - your dad hadn’t taken the pregnancy news well, but neither of your parents were strict. Not like this. The silence left behind after that exchange was deafening.
If you hadn’t been pregnant and starving, you would have lost your appetite. Instead you cleared your plate, and could have gone for seconds if someone offered. After dinner you helped Mrs. Harrington clean up, washing the dishes alongside her - which seemed to earn her approval. You could hear a heated conversation between Steve and his father muffled from the living room.
Once the dishes had been done and the dining room and kitchen were spotless, Steve’s parents told you goodbye. “Thank you for coming to dinner,” Mrs. Harrington said. “We enjoyed having you.” Mr. Harrington said nothing.
“Thank you for having me,” you said. You smiled at them, feeling their eyes once again on your stomach now that you were standing. It was something you were having to get used to in general. Everyone looked.
When Steve placed his hand on your back and led you out of the house and into the fresh air of the night, you took a deep breath that you’d needed for hours. “Well. Glad that’s over.”
Steve laughed, opening the passenger door for you. He took your hand to help you lower yourself into the seat. “Told you they were bad.”
He climbed into the driver’s seat and shut the door. “Yeah, your dad was an asshole,” you said. It made him laugh again.
As he started the engine and began driving back towards your house, a silence settled, although this was a much more comfortable one. Eventually he reached over and took your hand in his, which surprised you but you weren’t complaining. It was just friendly. Nothing romantic between you.
“I’m glad you came,” he said. “Even though they seemed like assholes-“
“Your mom was fine!”
“-believe me,” he continued, “you earned points in their book for even having the balls to show up and take their shit.”
You smiled. “You really think they didn’t hate me?”
“Oh, they loved you. That’s just how they show it.”
It wasn’t long before the BMW pulled up outside your home. The lights were on inside, casting a warm glow over the yard. “Want me to walk you in?” Steve asked.
“Sure.”
Steve followed you up the walkway and to the door, his hand resting on your back as if you might hurt yourself without his help. You entered the house to find both of your parents in the living room, watching TV.
“Steve!” your mother said. “How are you?”
“I’m doing well,” he said. “Just making sure she gets home safely.”
“Well, we appreciate that.” Your mom smiled. Steve gave you a tight hug, one that you were surprised by. He hadn’t been this affectionate with you.
“I’ll see you later,” he said. You watched as he turned and left, feeling like he was taking a piece of you with him, too. You wanted to reach for him, to grasp his hand and bring him back, bring him upstairs and to your room. It wasn’t even sex you were after (although being pregnant had made you super horny), but even just to be held. Steve made you feel safe, cared for.
But you couldn’t do that. It would be weird, for one. It was weird enough that you wanted him in that way. You went upstairs and took your shower before settling into bed - drifting off to thoughts of Steve.
—
Things were getting easier. Well, for the most part. You were 18 weeks pregnant now, bump perfectly round and visible in all your clothes, even the sweatshirt now. Steve never left your side, taking your safety as the most important thing.
You and Carol had grown tight, too. The most unlikely friendship turned out to be the best. Carol was amazing. She was like having Scary Dog Privileges. No one dared fuck with her, or you, now.
“Wheeler is a stuck up bitch,” Carol said as you passed Nancy giving you the dirtiest look once again. “Don’t mind her.”
“I just…feel bad,” you muttered, holding your books tight to your chest. “I did kind of fuck her over.”
Carol shrugged. “Shit happens. They weren’t gonna last anyway.”
“You don’t think?” you asked, eyebrows raised.
“Oh, definitely not.” She scoffed. “Harrington thought she was the best thing to ever happen to him, but they would have been over by graduation.”
“Why?”
“Well, they just weren’t right for each other, for one.” She pushed a red curl behind her ear. “Harrington never could have been happy with her long term. She’s too…goody goody.”
It was true. You’d never seen Nancy break a rule in her life.
“You, however,” she said, giving you a playful smirk, “would be perfect for him.”
You blushed deeply. “That’s not true. He doesn’t even like me in that way.”
“Sure,” she said, looking at you with a smile that said she knew something you didn’t.
After school on the way home with Steve, he seemed like he had something on his mind. It wasn’t like Steve to not be chatting you up on the way home, telling you every detail of his day and asking you a million questions about how you and the baby felt. He tapped his fingers nervously on the steering wheel, eyes locked on the road.
“…What’s up?” you finally asked, having had enough of the silence.
Steve looked over at you like you’d surprised him. “What do you mean?”
“You look like you have something on your mind,” you said. “You know you can tell me anything, right?”
“Yeah, yeah I know.” He tapped his fingers along with the song on the radio. “I was just thinking…”
“About what?”
Steve sighed. “I was just…so, we’re having a baby together, right?”
“Yeah…?”
“And most people who have a baby together are…you know, together.”
You just looked at him. “What are you saying?”
He sighed again, hands tightening on the steering wheel. “I’m saying…maybe we should try being together? Like, a couple?” He glanced over at you. “For the baby, of course,” he added quickly.
“Steve…”
“No, it’s okay. It was a stupid idea.”
You felt conflicted. On one hand, you wanted to be with Steve, something you hadn’t even realized about yourself. You wanted to try this. But you knew Steve was only asking for the baby’s sake, not because he liked you in any kind of way. And not to even mention how Nancy would feel about it. You cared a lot about how Nancy felt. It was almost like you thought there was any chance of salvaging your friendship.
“It’s not stupid,” you said quietly. “It’s just…Nancy…”
“No, no, yeah. You’re totally right.” He gestured with his hand, drawing a clear line. “We’re just co-parents. That’s all.”
“Yeah,” you agreed. The car fell into an awkward silence. You felt bad. You wanted to take it back, to tell Steve you wanted to be with him. You wanted to kiss him on the mouth and be touched like he’d touched you that one night. You wanted to do those things with him again. You wanted him to love you.
The BMW pulled up outside your house, but you didn’t get out right away. You debated saying something about it, changing your mind and telling Steve you liked him, but he spoke first.
“I’m sorry, I don’t know why I even brought that up,” he said. “It’s not like…I mean, we aren’t interested in each other in that way anyway, right? It was a dumb idea. Just forget about it.”
His words struck you in the chest, making your heart ache. You had started to suspect that maybe Steve did like you, but his words put an end to those silly thoughts. How could he? You were nothing like Nancy, not really, despite being her best friend for many years. Nancy was better than you in every way.
“Yeah,” you said. “It’s fine, I know you didn’t mean it or anything.”
Something crossed Steve’s face, but he didn’t say anything else. “Call me if you need anything, yeah?” he said instead, the same thing he said most times he dropped you off.
“Okay. I will.” You climbed out of the car, holding your emotions inside as you reached your front door and unlocked it with your key. You turned to see Steve still waiting there, watching to make sure you got inside safely. It only made it hurt worse, the way you wished you could run into his arms and kiss him like you’d dreamed of since that night. But you couldn’t. He wasn’t yours.
He wasn’t yours.
—
You had been counting down to the 20 week appointment since you first accepted the pregnancy and allowed yourself to feel excited. It was the big one - the anatomy scan, where they’d see if everything was progressing the way it should, and if you were having a boy or a girl.
Steve was buzzing with excitement when he picked you up that morning. He handed you a hot chocolate from your favorite place as you got into the car.
“What’s the occasion?” you teased with a smile.
“You know what’s the occasion,” he laughed. “Are you as excited as I am?”
“I don’t know, that’s tough to beat.”
Steve had been talking about it even more than you had. He had a calendar where he was crossing off every day until your due date, and to this appointment. He was probably the most involved dad you’d ever seen, and the baby wasn’t even here yet.
“My mom’s meeting us at the doctor’s office after school,” you said. “She wanted to be there.”
“My mom asked if she could come.”
Your eyes widened. “She did?”
“Yeah.” He started driving to school. “I told her I didn’t think it was a good idea.”
“Why?”
“Would you have wanted her there?” he asked, eyebrows raised.
“I mean…” you thought. “I wouldn’t have minded, I don’t think.”
“Really?”
“Well, she is the baby’s grandmother…”
Those words fell heavily onto Steve’s shoulders. “Yeah.”
“But maybe we can tell them in a fun way. Get a little cake or something.”
Steve smiled at you before he turned back to the road. “That’s cute. Yeah, we could do that. I’m sure she’d like it.”
“After the appointment,” you said, “we’ll stop at the bakery.”
The school day really dragged by. You were so excited to get out of there and go to your appointment, every class felt like it was 5 hours long. Steve felt the same way, complaining through the whole day and all of lunch.
“I just wanna knooow,” he whined, leaning back in his seat in the cafeteria. “Like, we’ve been waiting so long.”
“Oh my god, Harrington, we get it,” Tommy said, rolling his eyes. “We get that you’re excited about your kid.”
“Oh, stop,” Carol said, shoving Tommy’s arm. “Let them be excited. It’s exciting.” She gave you a reassuring smile and squeezed your hand. “You guys talk about it as much as you want to.”
Tommy scoffed. “Really? You’re outnumbering me?”
“Yes, I am.”
“Sorry, Hagan, majority rules,” Steve teased. “I get to talk about my kid all day. You’re just jealous, anyway.”
“Jealous?” Tommy said, incredulous, his mouth dropping open. “I am not jealous you’re having a kid in high school.”
“Sure, sure.”
After lunch, you and Carol walked to your lockers together like you did every day. Only she passed hers, following you all the way to yours and leaning against the closed one next to you.
“Can I go with you?” she asked.
You furrowed your brow, slowing as you took books out of your locker. “Go with me where?”
“To your doctor’s appointment, silly?” she popped her bubblegum, looking at you like the question was obvious. “Can I come?”
“You- why?”
“Because it’s exciting!” she squealed, grabbing your arms. You caught the attention of Nancy and Barb from across the hallway, who both gave you dirty looks. Carol didn’t even notice them. “I wanna find out if I’m gonna be auntie to a little boy or a girl. I think it’s a girl.”
You hadn’t even realized Carol cared so much about your pregnancy. “I…I mean, yeah, you can come.”
“Yes!” she cheered. “I can’t wait to be able to go shopping. I’m gonna spoil them so much, you have no idea.”
After school, Steve surprised you by your locker, making you jump and place a hand over your belly. “Jesus, Steve.”
“Sorry,” he said. “But are you excited? Are you ready to go?”
You closed the locker with all your stuff in it, turning the dial to lock it. “Yes. I’m ready. Carol’s coming, too.”
He looked like he might have a question about that, but he shrugged his shoulders instead. “Okay. The more the merrier.”
Nancy and Barb watched as Steve placed a hand on your round belly, 20 weeks now and no longer fitting into any of your old clothes. Your mom had taken you out shopping for some maternity clothes, which you rejected at first because they all looked like old lady clothes. Ultimately you ended up in a pair of maternity jeans with a stretchy band in the front, and a wardrobe of Steve’s t-shirts he so graciously let you borrow, just oversized enough to fit over the belly.
He didn’t care who was watching as he took the minute to rub his large hand over your stomach, smiling at you with such affection it made your heart beat fast. “I’m really excited,” he said, just loud enough for you to hear. “This is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
Your heart swelled. You wanted to say something -
I love you. I love you. I love you.
Your own thoughts shocked you. Where did that come from?
“I’m excited too,” you said instead. Your hand rested on top of his. You could practically feel Nancy and Barb burning a hole into the back of your head. Steve didn’t even notice them. He just smiled back at you.
“Let’s go,” he said. He put his hand on your lower back and guided you out of the building, not caring if anyone was looking (they were). Carol was waiting by the car, her face breaking out into a huge grin when you and Steve approached. Tommy stood beside her, looking much less excited.
“This is so exciting!” Carol squealed, grabbing your hands. “It’s a girl, I know it.”
“I think it’s a boy,” Tommy muttered, and you smiled - seems like he was more invested than he let on.
“You just want to be his favorite,” Carol said, elbowing him in the ribs.
“We’re gonna follow you,” Tommy said, swinging his keys around his finger. “So whenever you guys are ready.”
Steve helped you get into the passenger seat - you needed a little help these days. He got into the driver’s seat and turned some music on, pulling out of the school parking lot. Tommy’s car followed.
At the office, your mom’s car was waiting right out front. She smiled when she saw you, but you could tell she was feeling emotional. She pulled you into a hug when you got out of the car, holding you close.
“Still can’t believe my baby is having a baby,” she said, sniffling. You hugged her back tightly. Becoming a mother yourself opened your eyes to a lot of things about your own mother.
Your entourage took up a lot of room in the tiny waiting room. Steve sat on one side of you, your mom on the other, and Tommy and Carol across from you. When the nurse called you back, they all followed. The nurse seemed a little surprised, but didn’t say anything.
She did your vitals first, taking your temperature and blood pressure. She looked a little concerned as she took the blood pressure cuff off. “Have you had high blood pressure before?”
You looked up at her, confused. “No.”
“Hm.” She wrote something down in your chart. Steve looked instantly terrified, looking between you to the nurse to your mother, who looked equally as nervous.
“Is that bad?” Steve asked.
“The doctor will discuss it with you,” the nurse said politely, which did not satisfy Steve whatsoever, but he didn’t press the subject.
Steve stayed right by your side as you waddled into the exam room, your mom and friends following behind you. Steve helped you up onto the exam table. You cradled your belly in your arms, feeling the immense love for the tiny little baby already.
It wasn’t long before the ultrasound technician came in, wheeling an ultrasound machine. An external one this time, thank god. “Good afternoon!” she said, giving a huge smile to everyone in the room. “I see we have a party going on in here.”
She instructed you to pull your shirt up as she prepared the machine. She squirted the cold gel onto your belly, pressing the wand hard into your skin and moving it around as she tried to find a good view of the baby. Steve sat right next to you, holding your hand tightly. His eyes were glued to the screen. Everyone’s were.
The small baby popped up on the screen, looking more like a baby than you’d ever seen it. It was real, it felt real - that was a baby. Your baby. Yours and Steve’s. A little Harrington.
Steve’s free hand shot up and covered his mouth as he took in the sight of his child on the screen. Tears welled in his eyes, and he was shaking. He squeezed your hand, and you squeezed his back. Your mom had also started crying, Carol watching with her hand over her chest, even Tommy was moved.
The tech took measurements of every body part, logging them in your chart. Everyone just watched the process, watching the baby moving around on the screen until the moment you’d all been waiting for finally came.
“Do you want to know the gender?” she asked, smiling at each person in the room.
“Yes!” you and Steve both said together. You looked at each other, Steve smiling and a giggle escaping your lips.
“Alright then,” the tech smiled. She moved the wand, then wrote something in the chart again. “You’re having a baby girl.”
The whole room erupted into excitement. But when Steve looked at you, it was like you were the only two people in the room.
“A daughter,” he said, like he was in awe. “We’re having a daughter.”
“Yeah, we are,” you said as the tears finally fell down your cheeks. Steve reached up and wiped them away with his thumb.
“I can’t believe it,” he whispered. “This is the best day of my life. So far.”
That made your heart soar. You squeezed his hand again, and he held yours with both of his, bringing your hand up to his lips and kissing it. “Thank you,” he said. “Thank you for this. This is the best gift I ever could have hoped for.”
“Steve…” you said, tears falling even faster now.
“Don’t cry, please.” He wiped your tears away again. “Just…thank you.”
After the ultrasound, the tech left and you were left waiting for the doctor. The room was buzzing with excitement over the news, everyone talking all at once.
“I can’t believe I’m having a granddaughter,” your mom said, dabbing at her eyes with a tissue. “Reminds me of when I was pregnant with you.”
You imagined what it might be like one day to be supporting your daughter - the one growing in your belly now, this tiny little creature. It was hard to imagine her as a real human being who would grow into her own person one day. You hoped she wouldn’t be having a baby in high school, at least.
“Yeah, well,” Steve said, “if any guy comes within 100 feet of her I’m beating him with a stick.”
“Ohmygod,” Carol said. “We have to go shopping. There’s so much cute stuff for baby girls. Do you have anything yet?”
“Not really,” you admitted. You had been mostly waiting for this appointment - it’s like it hadn’t felt real before. Now, it was real.
“That’s okay,” she said. “We’ll go get all kinds of stuff.”
Steve rubbed your belly as everyone kept talking, like he was in his own little world. Just him and his baby girl, moving beneath his palm. The movements were soothing, relaxing you.
Finally the doctor walked in, greeting everyone with a smile. She scanned through your chart before speaking. “I see you had some high blood pressure today.”
“Yeah,” you said. “I’ve never had that before.”
“We’re going to keep an eye on that,” she said. “I want to see you here again next week, okay?”
“Next week?” you asked, confused. Your appointments had been monthly until now.
“Yes,” she said. “High blood pressure can be a sign of a lot of things, some small and some big. I just want to keep an eye on it.”
“Is everything okay?” Steve asked, interrupting the conversation. “Is she okay? Is the baby?”
“There’s no reason to worry right now,” she said, trying to calm Steve. “If there’s something more serious going on, we’ll catch it.”
Steve begrudgingly accepted that answer. He wasn’t trying to be a total asshole, he was just scared. But the appointment concluded after that, and then all of you were walking out of the building together.
“I’ll see you at home, honey,” your mom said, giving you a tight hug. “Drive home safe,” she added, pointing to Steve.
“Yes, ma’am,” he said, saluting.
“I’ll call you,” Carol said, pulling you into a hug. “Love you.”
When only you and Steve were left, he helped you into the car again. He started driving towards town. “How are you feeling? About all of this?”
“I’m happy,” you said, hand rubbing the bump. “Really happy,”
Steve shot you a smile before turning back to the road. “Me too.”
He pulled into the parking lot of the bakery. Inside you ordered two cupcakes with pink filling, ready for Steve’s parents to discover the news. It was hard not to take a bite as you left the bakery.
“I can pick you up tomorrow to come have dinner with us and…you know, tell them,” he said.
“Okay,” you agreed. You held the cupcakes safely on your lap as he drove you back home.
Your house wasn’t far. Your mom had had to go back to work and your didn’t hadn’t gotten off yet, so it was empty. Steve came in with you, following you as you deposited the cupcakes in the kitchen and then up to your bedroom, carrying your bag for you. He dropped it by the end of your bed where you always sat it. It was weird how he’d started to know you so well.
He approached you, placing both hands on your belly. It was so natural for him now, it was his favorite thing to do. He got down to his knees in front of you so he was face level with your belly.
“Hi, baby girl,” he said. Your heart thudded hard in your chest - he had never done something like this before. “I’m your daddy.” He rubbed a hand across your stomach, caressing it lovingly. “I love you very much already. Did you know that? I can’t wait to meet you.”
Tears sprung to your eyes. You quickly wiped them away, watching the moment between Steve and - your daughter.
“You be good for your momma, okay?” he continued. “She’s working hard growing you and finishing school at the same time. She’s the coolest. You’re going to love her.”
You could feel her wiggling around, kicking at Steve’s hand. His eyes went wide- “Did she just kick me??”
You laughed, amazed. “Yeah, I think she did.”
Steve was smiling so big, his own eyes welling with tears. He kissed your belly, rubbing where he had felt the kick. “I love you. I love you so much.”
When Steve stood again, he looked happy. So happy. It made your heart swell, too.
“I guess I gotta get going,” he said, looking like he absolutely did not want to go. “Still under curfew, and all.”
“Okay,” you begrudgingly agreed. You found yourself wanting to spend more time with Steve - and you already spent just about all your time together. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Steve’s face brightened at that reminder. “Yeah. See you tomorrow.”
He surprised you when he pulled you into a hug, holding you tightly while still being careful of the bump. It felt like a loss when he pulled away, and then he was leaving, taking a piece of you with him.
—
The next day, Steve picked you up for dinner just as planned. You had the cupcakes ready to go. You were nervous, your hands shook as you buckled your seatbelt. Steve could sense your anxiety immediately, reaching over and taking your hand.
“Hey, it’s gonna be okay. They’re gonna be happy. The hard part is over.”
You tried to keep that in mind during the ride there. You were extra careful with the cupcakes, not allowing even a smidge of icing to be messed up. At the Harrington’s Steve came around and took them from you before helping you get up.
Inside the house smelled delicious once again. Roasted chicken this time, with potatoes and greens. Mrs. Harrington smiled as the two of you walked into the kitchen.
She greeted you by name, walking around the island bar to hold your hand in both of hers. “How are you feeling, darling? How’s the little one?”
“Good, and good,” you answered both her questions. She surprised you by placing a hand on your belly - you had yet to have anyone but Steve do that. It felt strange.
“What are these?” she asked, gesturing to the two boxes in Steve’s hand.
“We brought cupcakes…to announce the gender,” you explained.
“How cute!” She took them from Steve carefully, sitting them on the counter. “Richard should be down any minute now.”
Mr. Harrington came down the stairs as you were helping Mrs. Harrington set the table. He looked stern and unfriendly as ever, still dressed nicely in a button down and slacks. He greeted you shortly.
“Should we go ahead and do the reveal before dinner?” Mrs. Harrington asked. “I don’t think I can wait.”
“Sure, we can,” you said. Steve handed one of the boxes to his father and the other to his mom. The opened them, revealing the cutely decorated cupcakes with white icing and a baby rattle on top.
“Ready?” Steve asked.
They took the small decoration off and peeled the paper from around the sweet bread. They exchanged a look before they bit into their cupcakes at the same time.
Mrs. Harrington lit up when she saw the pink filling, squealing and throwing her arms around Steve first, then you. “A granddaughter!!”
Mr. Harrington had…no reaction. In fact, he almost seemed displeased. “You knock a girl up and you couldn’t even have a son to carry on the Harrington name?”
Silence. “Dad-“
Mr. Harrington held a hand up, silencing Steve. But nothing more was said as everyone sat down to dinner in the awkward silence.
It was uncomfortable. Mr. Harrington was a total asshole, and his wife just let him without saying a word, leading to awkward moments like these. You didn’t know what to say. You didn’t know if there was anything to say.
When you and Steve left, he was apologetic. “I’m so sorry. He’s such an ass. I’m really sorry he ruined the whole thing.”
You shook your head as you climbed into the car. “It’s not your fault, Steve.”
“I know. It just…feels like it reflects back on me.”
“What do you mean?” you asked him as he began the drive home.
“Just that…it feels like people think I’m an asshole just like him. Or that I will be one day. And it’s embarrassing.”
You took his hand. “Steve, you’re nothing like your dad.”
He let out a long breath. “God. Thank you. For saying that.”
“Seriously,” you continued. “Nothing like him. You’re kind, and sweet, and caring, loyal, funny, reliable-“
“You think all those things about me?” Steve asked, goofy grin on his handsome face.
You blushed deeply. “I…”
“I think you’re great, too.” His eyes were on the road now. “The best, even. I wouldn’t want to be doing this with anyone else.”
“Not even Nancy?”
The question hung in the air for a moment. “No. Not even Nancy.”
You wanted to say it then - I love you. But it didn’t come. You tried to work up the courage, but before you had the chance to, the car was coming to a stop outside your house.
Neither of you said anything at first, neither daring to move. Steve opened his mouth to say something, but just closed it again instead. He turned to you and gave you a smile that seemed rather forced.
“I’ll see you Monday,” he said. “Take care of yourself and our little nugget.”
“I will,” you agreed. You waited to see if he would say something else, but he didn’t. So you opened the door and climbed out (with some difficulty) and walked into your house.
Up in your room that night, you thought. You had much to think about, and your mind wouldn’t shut the fuck up. You were about to resort to counting sheep when your phone rang on your bedside table.
You snatched it off the receiver, hoping to hear one particular voice only. “Hello?”
“Uh, hey.” Just as if you had manifested it, Steve’s voice came from the other line.
“Hey,” you said, smiling like an idiot because he couldn’t see you. “What’s up?”
“I just…” he sighed. “I couldn’t sleep. And I wanted to talk to you.”
Butterflies took flight in your stomach and chest. “Oh?”
“Yeah.” He chuckled lightly to himself. “I don’t have anything else. I didn’t exactly plan this far, I just picked up the phone.”
You couldn’t stop smiling. “What are you doing?”
“Just laying in bed…was trying to sleep, but…yeah.”
“I couldn’t sleep either,” you said. You didn’t admit that you had been longing to call him and hear his voice just as bad as he had for you.
“Are you uncomfortable?”
“A little.” You rubbed your belly beneath your loose sleep shirt.
“Is there anything I can do to help? Anything I can get?”
You thought for a minute, smile on your lips. “Maybe one of those giant pregnancy pillows.”
“You got it.”
The baby kicked hard, and you moved your hand to where she was, letting out a little “Ooh.”
“You okay?”
“Yeah,” you said. “She’s just really active tonight.”
“Maybe she misses her dad.”
“Maybe she does.” There was a moment of silence over the line.
“Do you have any name ideas?” Steve asked out of the blue.
“Oh,” you said, question catching you off guard. “I haven’t really let myself think about it yet.”
“I like Elizabeth,” he offered. “Ellie.”
“That’s really cute.” You were surprised at how much you liked the name, since it was the first one either of you had brought up.
“Maybe Danielle.”
“I like that too, but I like Ellie better.”
“Me too.” You could hear the smile in Steve’s voice. “Elizabeth Harrington.”
Harrington. Your daughter will be a Harrington. You didn’t love the idea of having a different last name than her, but you didn’t want to revisit your dad’s insistence to get married.
“Elizabeth ‘Ellie’ Harrington. I like it.” You smiled too, but your heart was beating rapidly in your chest. It was hard to believe this little creature you’d been carrying around was a human being with a whole name and everything.
“What about her middle name?”
You thought. “Maybe Louise? After my grandmother?”
“Perfect. I love it.” Steve sounded infinitely happier than he had when you’d picked up the phone. He yawned, which made you yawn, too.
“I guess I’m gonna actually try to go to bed,” he said reluctantly. “Talking to you helped.”
“Glad I could be of service.” You twirled the phone cord around your finger. “I guess I should go to sleep, too.”
“Did talking to me make you feel better?
Yet another smile grew on your lips. “Yeah. It did.”
“Good. I’ll talk to you later. Goodnight.” The way your name sounded when it left his lips had you aching for him. In any way.
But instead you hung up the phone, wishing Steve was here with you instead of in his own house. You wished he was here to hold you, to cuddle you to sleep and keep you safe. You drifted asleep to thoughts of Steve in bed behind you.
—
“I can’t believe we’re graduating in 2 weeks,” Carol said, flipping through the racks of dresses. “It’s finally over.”
“Finally,” you agreed, because you were equally ready to be done with the halls of Hawkins High. Especially at 27 weeks, just about in the third trimester and absolutely huge. You waddled through the store behind Carol, your back aching horribly.
“Ooh, this one’s cute,” she said, pulling a white dress off the rack. You remembered a time when you could still fit in anything besides maternity clothes.
“That would look really good on you!” And you knew it was the truth. But everything looked good on Carol.
“We need to find you something,” she said. “You’ve got to look hot.”
“I don’t think that’s possible at this point,” you said, gesturing to the bump.
“It’s definitely possible. You are hot.” Carol looked at you like this was obvious information. “We’re gonna find you a dress you feel beautiful in. I promise.”
After Carol decided on a dress, you moved on to a maternity store. Once again, the majority of the selection was, for lack of a better description, old lady clothes. You felt dejected as you and Carol looked through the racks, Carol scrunching her nose up at most of the options.
Until finally, she gasped, pulling out a white dress with lace over the bodice. “Oh, this is the one.”
It was pretty. You took it from her hands and examined it. You couldn’t believe how pretty it was, in this store surrounded by the ugliest clothes you’d ever seen. But here it was. “I need to try it on first.”
You weren’t hopeful as you and Carol walked to the changing rooms, and you especially weren’t hopeful as you undressed and saw yourself in the mirror. Your body had changed so much. It was unrecognizable. You felt self conscious constantly, like you were this huge fucking planet walking around and drawing everyone’s attention, and not in a good way.
You forced yourself to turn away and slip the dress over your head. It fit surprisingly well, hugging your breasts and chest tightly before flowing down over the bump. It stopped about at your knees. It did look really nice on you, you had to admit. It accentuated the bump in a flattering way, more like look how cute I am! than I’m trying to hide this huge thing under my clothes.
You stepped out of the changing room, and Carol gasped, clapping her hands together in approval. “Oh, this is the one, baby. You’re getting this one.”
The confidence this dress gave you made you feel as if you were glowing, the way they always said pregnant women did. You were disappointed to change back into your own clothes, but when you took the dress to the counter and bought it, it made you feel better.
Maybe graduation wouldn’t be so bad after all.
—
The day of graduation, you were 29 weeks, everything was swollen and you were in pain. You were in a bad mood as your mom helped you get ready. You were already in your dress, doing your makeup in the mirror as your mom styled your hair for you.
“It’s going to be fine,” your mom said. “You’re gonna walk across that stage, get your diploma, and be done with it. And you have Steve and Carol with you.”
That was true. It was the only thing that made you feel better. You were humiliated at the thought of having to walk the stage with your huge belly, everyone knowing who you were and what you did. How you got here.
Steve came and picked you up since you didn’t want to be alone, your parents driving on their own in time for the ceremony. As graduates, you had to be there early. Steve held your hand the drive there, like he could sense how scared you were. Maybe it was obvious.
Carol pulled you into a tight hug when you and Steve entered the gymnasium, all set up with a stage and lots of seating. “You look beautiful. I knew you would.”
You blushed. “Thanks, Carol.”
“You do,” Steve agreed. With the way he was looking at you you could tell he was genuine. In fact, he was looking at you like you were the only person in the room full of a hundred Hawkins High graduates. It made your heart beat fast. His hand rested on your cheek, gently caressing the skin. You both totally forgot about Carol and Tommy standing right next to you, forgot that you were embarrassed to be here. All
there was was Steve, and god, you wanted to kiss him-
“Isn’t this sweet?”
Your stomach dropped.
“Nancy,” you said, turning and seeing her standing there, looking beautiful as she always did. Barb stood next to her, looking uncomfortable.
“What do you want, Wheeler?” Carol asked, her usual attitude back. The one you did not want to be on the other side of again.
“Just wanted to congratulate the new parents,” she said mockingly. “It’s almost time now, isn’t it?”
You didn’t know what to say. You knew she was being facetious, she didn’t actually care about the state of your pregnancy or the baby. But it was still so strange to have Nancy talking to you this way. Your long time best friend, the sweetest person you knew, turned into this.
“Yeah,” Steve said. “It is.”
“Are you two together yet?” she asked. “Or has Steve gone and knocked up another slut?”
“Oh, you bitch,” Carol said, pushing through to stand right in Nancy’s face. “Why don’t you go find Byers? You two have been getting pretty cozy even since before you and Steve broke up.”
Nancy’s jaw dropped. “You-“
“Nancy, I think you should go,” Steve said, stepping between the girls to put an end to this fight before it got out of hand. “You aren’t actually here to talk, so just go.”
She looked at Steve then with so much hurt in her eyes, you felt guilty all over again. “Sure, Steve. I hope you’re happy.”
Barbara put a hand on her back as they walked away, and you let out a deep breath. Steve pulled you into a hug, rubbing your back. “You okay?”
“Yeah,” you confirmed. “I just feel like the biggest backstabber on the planet.”
Steve sighed. He laid his head on top of yours. “You’re not a bad person, sweetheart.”
Sweetheart. You knew it was just friendly, but the sound of the nickname gave you goosebumps anyway. You wanted so badly to tilt your head up and look into his deep brown eyes, to-
“Alright, everyone, we’re getting started! Get to your assigned places!”
Steve reluctantly pulled away from you with his hands on your upper arms. He looked you over again, his face creased with concern. “Are you sure you’re okay?”
“I’m okay,” you assured him. “Now let’s go graduate.”
The ceremony was long and boring. You waited your turn until Principal Higgins reached your name on the alphabetical list, then you stood, smoothed your dress down over your belly, and walked to the stage with confidence.
You could hear your parents, Steve, Tommy, and Carol cheering for you louder than anyone. You blushed, but couldn’t wipe the smile off your face. Principal Higgins handed you your diploma with a smile and a “Well done,” and that was that. You exited the stage and went back to your seat, watching the remaining students graduate.
When you tossed your hat into the air at the end of the ceremony, you felt more emotions than you’d expected to. School was really over. You couldn’t even remember a time before you were in school - it had been your whole life, and now it was over. Now you had much bigger, scarier things headed your way.
Steve’s parents threw a huge graduation party for him, and were kind enough to make it a joint party for the two of you (at Steve’s insistence). There were a lot of guests, lots of Steve’s family you didn’t know and a lot of friends and acquaintances from school. You were glad Tommy and Carol were there.
You entertained yourself with the buffet table - still very much eating for two, after all. Steve stayed by your side, introducing you to his distant family members. They all looked at your belly before they met your eyes. You had grown used to that treatment.
“I’m really proud of you,” Steve said when the two of you caught a moment alone. “I know you don’t want to hear it, but I think it’s really impressive that you finished school with…everything going on.”
You shook your head. “It’s really not that impressive.”
“It is, and you should be proud of yourself.” Steve looked at you for a minute. He stepped closer to you, his hand coming to rest on the side of your face. He caressed your cheek, his eyes staring deeply into yours. Your heart stuttered in your chest - were you even still breathing? He parted his lips, moving closer and closer.
He pressed his lips to your forehead, leaving a lingering kiss there. Your heart sunk - you felt like an idiot for thinking that he had feelings for you, that he was going to kiss you. Your cheeks heated with embarrassment, even though Steve had no idea what you’d been thinking he was about to do.
You spent the rest of the party feeling like an absolute fool for wishing for something that would never happen.
At the end of the party, Steve and Carol both gave you a big hug. Even Tommy joined in. Besides your own angst, it was hard not to smile when you were surrounded by these people you loved - your found family.
You rode home in the passenger seat of your mom’s car, your dad sitting in the back to give you the extra space. You watched out the window, and you thought not about your high school career coming to an end, or the baby on the way, or the situation with Nancy and Barb. You thought about Steve.
Steve, Steve, Steve.
—
You put the brochure down in front of Steve. “I signed us up.”
He picked up the paper, examining it. “‘Lamaze’? What the fuck is Lamaze?”
“It’s a birthing class,” you said, although you thought he would have gotten the hint from the pictures of smiling pregnant women and dads on the front.
“A birthing class?”
“Yes, Steve. I’m 32 weeks pregnant. This baby is coming soon, and I want to be ready.” Truth be told, you were terrified. Any amount of preparation would be better than your current state.
“I- we just- well, yeah,” he said, stumbling over his words. “It’s just-“
“What?”
Steve let out a deep breath. “It’s really coming soon, huh?” You softened as you could physically feel the anxiety radiating off his form where he sat across from you at the diner. He was jittery, bouncing his leg and fiddling with his hands.
“Yeah. Really soon,” you said, not mincing any words. “But we’ve got this. We’ve had months to prepare, we have a couple more to go. The baby has been healthy, I’ve been healthy besides the blood pressure. We have the big stuff - crib, stroller, car seat. The baby shower is in 3 weeks. We’re doing okay.”
Steve nodded. “Yeah. Yeah, we’re doing okay.” He sounded like he was trying to convince himself.
“We just need to be ready for the birth, you know?” you continued. “Neither of us has ever done this before.”
“I know.” He ran a hand through his hair, longer now than when you’d met. It suited him. “Okay. I’ll go with you.”
“You were gonna go with me either way.”
He laughed. “I’ll pretend I had a choice.”
The class was that Thursday. You had been staying home since graduation, while Steve had started working with his dad. It wore him out and he kind of hated it, but it was worth it for the benefits and pay. It was really the only option to take care of the three of you.
Steve picked you up after work, still dressed in his button down and tie, loosened around his neck. He smiled at you tiredly - “Hey.”
“Hey yourself. How was work?”
“Boring. Long.” He sighed as he pulled away from the curb and drove towards the hospital the class was being held at. It was the same hospital you’d be delivering at. “I hate it.”
“I know,” you said quietly. There was nothing to be done about it, though. It didn’t stop the guilt from eating at you.
At the hospital Steve helped you get out of the car, since you were officially too big to do it yourself now. Once you were down, you were stuck without help. It made you feel useless. He put his hand on your back as you waddled inside and signed in.
The goal was to give birth without the epidural. You weren’t sure how well that was going to go for you, but you were doing everything in your power to be prepared and have the best chance of making it without the medication.
You took a seat on one of the mats, Steve helping to lower you to the ground. He sat next to you, looking awkward as he looked around at all the other couples. Not that you were a couple.
The class started with relaxation exercises. Steve sat behind you, rubbing your shoulders and back as you tried to mentally get in the zone - meditating and doing deep breathing exercises along with the instructor.
The next thing they did was play a childbirth video.
Steve turned so pale you thought he would pass out. His eyes were glued to the screen, staring in absolute horror. His jaw was dropped, like he never expected childbirth to be this graphic- or dramatic.
After the video, the instructor talked some about the birthing process. You and Steve both listened intently, Steve even taking notes in a little notebook he brought along with him. It was cute.
After the lecture portion of the class, the instructor started leading you through labor breathing exercises.
“Alright, dads,” she said in her soothing voice, clapping her hands together. “Sit behind mom and hold her - hands on the belly for support - now breathe in and out with me, just like this.”
You followed her example, breathing in quickly three times then a long breath out. You repeated the exercise over and over along with the rest of the class, Steve’s strong hands on you as he breathed along with you. It was intimate. You leaned back into his touch and his body molded around yours.
“You’re doing great,” he whispered in your ear. “You’re doing so well, sweetheart. Keep breathing just like that. You’re gonna kick ass.”
Steve’s words were encouraging. It wasn’t exactly the method the other dads in the room were using, including more swearing than anyone else, but it worked.
The instructor taught the dads a lot of ways to support their partners, and Steve was paying full attention. Then she instructed everyone to stand - Steve pulled you up - and had the dads stand behind their partner.
“This has nothing to do with birthing techniques,” the woman said with a smile, “it’s just a moment of relief for our moms.”
Steve followed her steps and wrapped his arms around you, hands beneath your belly. Then, on the count of 3, he lifted up slightly, holding the weight of the baby. You could have cried from relief - your back hadn’t felt better in months. You hadn’t realized how much weight you’d been carrying around.
“Jesus Christ,” Steve huffed. “You carry all this around all day??”
After the short break, she went on to talk about newborn care. Steve changed his first diaper on a doll, which went about as well as you could expect, but you knew he’d be a fast learner.
Steve left the class with a newfound appreciation for you and everything you’d been going through and would go through. He was extra attentive as he helped you into the car.
“Want me to pick up some food on the way home?” he asked, turning the key in the ignition and starting the BMW.
“God, you read my mind.”
—
You were 35 weeks when your baby shower finally came around, absolutely huge and miserable. I mean huge. You didn’t even think it was possible to become so round, yet here you were.
You had started to be in a pretty bad mood all the time since being so heavily pregnant. You were, frankly, over it. Everything hurt, you felt like you took up so much space and looked like garbage, you couldn’t breathe, and there were no comfortable positions left.
Carol helped you dress in your long pink dress, the fabric hanging flatteringly along your body. You actually looked beautiful - it had been a long time since you felt beautiful.
“Look at you,” Carol said, a huge smile on her face as she looked you over. She looked as if she might cry. “I can’t believe it’s finally here.”
“I look huge,” you said, turning each way in the mirror.
“You look like a mom,” she said. “Very womanly. I dig it.”
You laughed at that, smoothing your hands over the belly. You actually didn’t feel bad.
“Steve’s going to lose his mind.”
You froze.
“What?” Carol asked, mockingly innocent. “You think I haven’t noticed how into him you are? Or how into you he is?”
“He is not into me,” you said quickly.
“Yes, he is. I’ve known Steve since elementary school. I’ve been friends with Steve since elementary school.” Carol looked at you pointedly. “He is head over heels for you, girl.”
“He just cares about me because I’m carrying his baby. It’s nothing more than that.”
“Tell yourself that if you want,” she shrugged.
You tried to push her words out of your head as you finished getting ready for the party. They were still lingering in your head when you walked into Steve’s large immaculate living room, to a room full of people you loved and some you vaguely knew.
You weren’t usually one to be the center of attention. You’d spent most of your life flying under the radar, not drawing any extra attention to yourself. But the baby shower was like having a spotlight on you, everyone looking at you and your belly and knowing how you got here. Even if they didn’t know the Nancy part, everyone here knew you and Steve were teen parents after a hookup and weren’t even together.
You happily helped yourself to the food, however. Your and Steve’s moms, with the help of Carol, had really outdone themselves. It was the fanciest baby shower you’d ever seen.
There was a beautiful rocking chair with a bow on it by the gift table. You wiped tears away as you removed it and sat down in the chair with Steve beside you. Carol began bringing you gifts, opening one after another of baby clothes and diapers and supplies you had been panicked about being able to afford. It only made you cry harder.
“There’s one more,” Steve said after you opened the last gift. The whole room of people watched intently, which made you uncomfortable, but Steve always made you feel like you were the only two people in the world.
He moved to the table and grabbed a card. It was tucked neatly in a dark green envelope, and it was thick, like there was something inside. You looked at Steve curiously. “What is this?”
“You have to open it and see,” he laughed.
You gave him a playfully cautious look before you started to break the seal on the envelope. You pulled out a pink card decorated with baby rattles and diapers and cribs. Slowly you opened it, and your jaw dropped.
There was a key taped inside. And on the other side, written in Steve’s messy scrawl:
My gift to you. Thank you for everything you do. You are my best friend and you are going to be the best mom this world has ever seen. I can’t wait to watch it happen.
Welcome home.
The tears were falling freely now. “Steve- is this-?”
“The key to our new apartment,” he finished for you. “I’ve been looking for months and I finally found one we can afford that looks incredible. Two bedrooms. A place for us to make our own.”
“Steve-“ you cried, but it was barely audible through the tears. You weren’t even thinking about how there was a room full of people watching you cry. “You shouldn’t-“
“What, shouldn’t have gotten us a place to live together like a real family?” He chuckled. “Let yourself be happy, sweetheart. You deserve this.”
The whole room of people were watching, some tearing up at the affectionate display. Steve must have been saving up for this since he got the job with his dad, not spending a single cent on anything for himself. His selflessness never ceased to amaze you, even though you should be used to it by now.
The baby shower was a huge success. You got everything you needed. You were in tears by the time the party was over, giving everyone a hug and all your gratitude as they left. When the guests were gone, you were left alone with Steve and both of your parents.
“You have until this weekend to move out,” Mr. Harrington said to Steve. “I’m not supporting you with a kid on the way.”
The whole vibe in the room shifted. What was once full of joy and happiness was now awkward and stilted. Mr. Harrington had brought the mood down once again.
“You know,” your mother said, “I think you should be proud of them. Sure, they got themselves into a mess, but look at them.” She looked at Steve with a smile, then at you with so much emotion in her eyes. “They’re doing great for themselves. Graduated, a good job, an apartment. They’re going to be okay. I believe in them.”
No one said anything at first. Your mom wrapped her arm around you, pulling you close like she often did when you were half her height. Finally, Mr. Harrington cleared his throat.
“Well. Isn’t that sweet. And naive.”
He turned and left before anyone could say anything else. You could tell your mom was pissed - she wasn’t one to be walked over. But for your sake, she didn’t push it.
“I…” Mrs Harrington began. “I’m…sorry, about him.”
Her words caught you off guard. Even Steve was surprised. He’d never heard her speak against his father before. She pulled Steve into a hug, holding him tight.
“I’m proud of you, son. You’re going to be a great father.”
Steve held her back, the emotions in the room now even more heightened, but not in the way they had been before Steve’s father left. This was better. This was love.
Steve held you tightly when you were on the way out the door with your parents. “I’ll come pick you up this weekend and we’ll move. Well, I’ll move. You can sit and look pretty while telling me where things go.”
Pretty?
“Okay,” you giggled, ignoring that part of what he said. “Bye, Steve.”
“Bye, sweetheart.”
—
Saturday, it was moving time. Just about everyone was pitching in to help - Steve’s mom, your parents, Tommy and Carol. Steve and Tommy carried the couch in and sat it in the living room, and that became your command center for the rest of the day.
You sat down, aching feet up on the coffee table they brought in shortly after. You watched the bustle around you as everyone carried box after box, furniture after furniture. Steve and Tommy got into an argument trying to get the bed frame into the bedroom door, until your dad came over and showed them how to turn it.
After the main furniture was up, you were able to get up and start decorating. You had been longing to nest, body itching to get ready for the baby. It was instinctual, all you could think about was preparing for this baby.
Everyone brought in the boxes from the baby shower. You set up in the nursery with Carol while everyone else finished up.
“We’re getting Steve and Tommy to figure this out,” Carol said, examining the crib manual with her nose scrunched up. “Because I have no fucking idea what this is telling me to do.”
When the rest of the furniture and boxes were moved, your parents began unpacking them while Tommy and Steve joined you and Carol.
“What is this, fuckin’, physics?” Tommy said, the instructions in his hands now. Steve snatched them from him.
“Let me see.”
An hour later and the crib still wasn’t finished, Steve and Tommy arguing every two seconds. You and Carol were opening the baby shower gifts and finding them a place in the room.
“I can’t believe how tiny these clothes are,” Carol gushed, holding them up and looking at them with heart eyes. “I want one.”
“Uh, you can forget about that one,” Tommy said.
You had asked for books instead of cards from your guests, so you had a large selection of baby books you slid onto the wall shelf. Carol cut the tags off the baby clothes and fit them onto the tiny hangers, folding the ones that went in the drawers.
When you were done, it looked like a proper nursery. The dark brown crib had a sheet on it, a personalized blanket hanging over the side. The books and clothes were put away. The stroller was in the closet, car seat ready to be installed in Steve’s car. There was a bouncer and baby swing, a collection of breastfeeding supplies, a changing table and plenty of diapers to get you started.
“Not long now,” Steve said when you were left alone in the apartment, standing in the nursery together and looking at what you’d done together. He rubbed his hand over your large belly, feeling Ellie kicking him. He smiled. He was happy.
—
“Oh my god,” Carol said, holding up a tiny frilly dress. “This is the cutest fucking thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”
The cashier gave her a disapproving look.
“There’s so many clothes,” you said, running your hand through the rack. “Will she need a lot of clothes?”
“Oh, yeah,” Carol said. “My little brother went through like, 5 outfits a day. Poop and throw up and all that.”
“Ugh.” You both laughed, browsing the store’s selection. There were way more baby girl clothes than baby boy clothes. But you thought about the future - maybe you’d be back one day shopping for a baby boy.
“Oh my god, look at this!” She held up another pink dress, a white bow around it. “You have to get this one. Ellie’s going to look so cute.”
The dress was extremely cute. You took it from Carol’s hands. You put it in your basket - she was right, Ellie had to have it.
You were just looking at another section of clothes when you felt a gush between your legs.
You gasped. “Carol-!”
Her jaw dropped. “Oh my god. Did what I think just happened just happen?”
“I-I think so,” you said. “But it’s early. It’s too early.”
“You’re 35 weeks right??”
“Yes.” You bent over as a strong contraction wracked through your body. You breathed out a rush of air, groaning as you held onto the rack with one hand and your belly with the other.
That’s when you noticed the blood. A lot of it.
The cashier came rushing over to you. “Ma’am? Are you okay? Do you need me to call an ambulance?”
You nodded, words unable to come with the amount of pain you were in, the fear struck deep into your chest. Carol was panicking.
The woman ran back to the phone and called 911, while Carol helped you find a place to sit. You sat on the chair, but quickly realized that wasn’t helping at all. You stood and began pacing, doing your breathing exercises like you’d learned in class. Tears streamed down your face, not from the pain, but from the pure horror, the fear that your baby wouldn’t be okay.
When the paramedics arrived, they got you on the stretcher immediately and prepared to rush you to the hospital. Carol jumped in the back with you, holding your hand.
“Hey. You’re doing great. You’re doing so good. Everything’s gonna be okay. We’ll call Steve at the hospital, okay? Then he’ll be there and the doctors can help you and everything will be fine.” Carol was rambling, her hand shaking in yours.
At the hospital you were brought upstairs immediately, changed into a gown and hooked up to monitors. Your blood pressure was still high and you were still
bleeding. They rushed an ultrasound machine into the room, beginning the exam as Carol called Steve.
“Steve?” Carol said into the phone. “She- she’s in labor. Yes, I’m sure. We know it’s early. There’s…there’s a lot of blood. We’re already at the hospital. Okay. By-“ She put the phone down. “He’s on his way. He hung up on me.”
Carol was helping you through your breathing exercises, trying to keep you calm as much as she could. You could tell she was freaked out, but she was being a good friend. The best, really.
The doctors finished their exam and determined you had experienced placental abruption.
“This is very, very serious,” the doctor said. “We’re going to prepare you for a C-section now.”
You didn’t want that. You didn’t want any of this. You had spent so long preparing for birth, preparing your pain management exercises and everything for the natural birth of your dreams. But anything to give Ellie the best chance of survival. You were getting woozy from the blood loss.
“Wait,” you said weakly as they put a cap over your hair and prepared to rush you to the OR. “Steve-“
“We have to take you for surgery right now,” one of the nurses said. “I don’t want to alarm you, but this is very serious. We can’t wait for anyone.”
You started crying again. None of this was happening the way you’d hoped. As they wheeled you out into the hall, you heard footsteps running down the hall. You turned your head, relieved to see a panicked Steve rushing to your side, still dressed in his nice clothes from work.
“I’m here,” he said, grabbing your hand. “I’m here.”
“Sir, we’re taking her for an emergency C-section right now,” the nurse said. “Someone will get you some scrubs and you can meet us in there.”
Steve reluctantly watched them take you, feeling helpless as he was left behind.
You were still out of it as they brought you into the freezing cold operating room, moving you onto the metal table covered in a sheet. There was a curtain separating your chest from the rest of your body, preventing you from seeing what was going on.
They put an oxygen mask on you and administered medication into your IV. It wasn’t long before you couldn’t feel anything below your arms anymore. Your vision was hazy, and all of a sudden you weren’t worried about anything anymore.
Steve rushed into the room dressed in hospital scrubs with a hair cap matching yours. The fear in his eyes was evident, and they were red as if he’d been crying. “Sweetheart,” he said, placing a kiss on your forehead and holding your hand. “I’m here. Everything is gonna be okay. The doctors are gonna help you and Ellie is gonna be here in our arms soon, healthy and beautiful.” It wasn’t clear who he was trying to convince.
You were out of it, not feeling a thing as they made the incision. Steve was freaking out, his hand shaking where it held one of yours that was strapped down. It felt like it was only seconds before the sound of crying filled the room.
Steve huffed a disbelieving breath, a smile on his face as he cried and looked at the tiny little baby with complete awe. The nurses cleaned her up, checking her out to make sure she was okay. She was so tiny, wiggling and crying. You had never seen something so small, so delicate.
The nurse wrapped her in a hospital blanket, putting a soft cap on her head full of brown hair. She brought her over to you and Steve as the doctors continued working on you, trying to stop the bleeding unbeknownst to you.
Steve took her from the nurse’s arms with all the gentleness of a brand new dad. He was shaking as he pushed the blanket down slightly to uncover her angelic face. Her eyes were closed, content in her father’s arms. He leaned over and held her down for you to see.
“Look,” Steve said gently. “Look what we did.”
You couldn’t stop the tears as you saw your daughter for the first time. She was perfect. Chubby little cheeks, pouty lips, button nose. She looked like the perfect mix of you and Steve.
“Hi, Ellie,” you whispered, your voice weak. “You are the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.”
Steve chuckled, a tear escaping from his eye and rolling down his cheek. “She’s perfect, isn’t she?”
“Yeah,” you agreed. “Perfect.”
—
Elizabeth Louise Harrington was born healthy, 6 lbs 7 oz. She only needed a short time in the nicu before they discharged her. You spent every waking moment in a wheelchair by her bassinet, holding and rocking her, taking turns with Steve, who was there the second he got off work.
Your mom was the first one to visit. She had hurried to the hospital as soon as Carol called her to tell her what had happened. She cried, a lot. But when she held her granddaughter in her arms, everything in the world was right.
Your dad came after work, smiling down at the tiny bundle in his wife’s arms. He put a hand on your shoulder, and looked at Steve. “You did good, kids.”
Steve’s mom was there shortly after. She cooed at the tiny baby, walking around the room and rocking her like a total natural. It may have been 18 years since she’d done this, but her instinct never left. His father never came.
That evening, once both of your parents had left, Tommy and Carol came over. “Oh my goddd!” Carol squealed quietly, coming over to you with her arms outstretched. “Let Auntie Carol see that perfect baby.”
Carol sat next to you on the bed as you handed the baby to her. She was so gentle as she took Ellie into her arms, bouncing her softly and cooing. “Look at you, pretty girl. Gonna be just as beautiful as your mama.”
Tommy took a seat on the room’s couch next to Steve. “Congrats, man,” he said, slapping Steve on the back.
“Thanks,” he said sheepishly.
“How do you like being a dad?”
Steve looked over at you, Ellie, and Carol on the bed, and he smiled. His chest felt warm and fuzzy, his heart soaring. “It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
They let you both go home from the hospital a week later. Steve took a week off of work to help you out, but that’s all his dad was willing to give him. You tucked Ellie safely into her car seat, buckling her in safely. Steve was so paranoid about hurting her.
The nurse pushed you out of the hospital in a wheelchair while Steve carried the baby carrier to his car. He hooked it into the backseat, and helped you climb into the back next to her. You weren’t ready to let her ride back there alone yet.
Steve drove home at a snail’s pace. The other cars on the road honked at you, but Steve didn’t care. All he cared about was getting his girls home safely.
He carried the carrier in one hand while he helped you walk your sore body into the apartment with his other. He got you comfortable on the couch before taking a sleeping Ellie out of her seat. He bounced her gently as he walked around the room.
It was so strange to be here, in this home, with your family. Your family, the one you created. Steve, and the baby girl you’d created together.
Only you and Steve weren’t together.
Steve hadn’t talked about girls at all since you’d been pregnant. You had taken his full attention. But what about when he decided he wanted to date again? How would you handle that? The thought filled you with dread.
Because you were starting to feel something for Steve that scared you.
You spent the first week home on the couch mostly. Steve brought you everything you needed, while helping you move a little more each day. You were still so sore from surgery, but you were determined to be ready to care for Ellie on your own when Steve went back to work.
Steve’s first diaper change had been an experience. He gagged, being dramatic as hell while you watched on and laughed. “You’re gonna have to get used to it, bud.”
“This is foul. How does such a tiny little thing poop so much?”
You had a newborn photo shoot scheduled 2 weeks after you came home. You dressed Ellie in a tiny dress, you and Steve dressing in matching nice clothes.
“Okay, mom and dad,” the photographer said. “Why don’t you get close and hold her between you?”
Steve moved close to you, holding Ellie between your bodies. The sleeping newborn cradled perfectly in your arms together, the photos were taken. You had chills at the proximity. You found that you liked being close to Steve. You liked it a lot.
That night, you got Ellie settled and laid her down in her crib. You were exhausted, as you always were these days. “I’m ready for bed,” you told Steve, yawning big.
“Me too,” he said. “Go on and get ready and I’ll be in soon.”
Since the apartment only had two bedrooms, you and Steve had agreed to share the bed. It was purely platonic, of course, even though you often woke up with Steve’s arm wrapped tightly around you and his face buried in your neck as he snored lightly. You never moved him when that happened.
After you’d had a shower and gotten in bed, Steve came and did the same before joining you. You both drifted off to sleep so fast, as you always did these days.
It was 3am when you were woken by the baby monitor. You picked it up, seeing Ellie fussing. You sighed - you never minded taking care of her, but you were just so tired tonight. You were getting up when Steve stopped you.
“I got it,” he said, sitting up and rubbing his eyes. “You go back to sleep.”
“Are you sure?” you asked. “You have work tomorrow.”
“I’m sure. Get some rest, please.”
You watched Steve leave, wondering how you got so lucky.
Steve went into the nursery, scooping a crying Ellie from her crib. “Hi, baby girl,” he said quietly. “Are you hungry? Let’s go warm you up a bottle.”
You had a supply of pumped milk so Steve could feed her, too. He went into the kitchen with the baby in his arms, making the bottle one handed like a pro. He settled into the recliner and rocked as he fed the bottle to Ellie, who was snuggled against his shirtless chest.
He was so sleepy, but he’d rather be here than anywhere else.
A month into her life, Ellie started crying constantly. It was like there was nothing you could do to calm her. It broke your heart to see her so upset, like she was in pain. Steve was stressing out hard.
“What do we do??” he asked, pacing and running his hands through his hair. “What’s wrong with her? Why won’t she calm down?”
A trip to the doctor later, Ellie had a diagnosis of colic. You were basically told there was nothing you could do, it was just something that had to run its course. Nevertheless, you both put your all into trying to make her feel better. Making sure she burped well after eating, giving her gas drops, walking the hall with her at night for hours until she finally fell asleep. Steve never once complained. He was so devoted to his daughter, it made your chest ache with love.
Love.
One of those nights, when Ellie was 7 weeks old and after she had finally fallen asleep, you and Steve collapsed on the couch, exhausted. You laid your head on his shoulder, and he wrapped an arm around you.
“You okay?” he asked you quietly.
“Yeah,” you said. “What about you?”
“I’m good. I’m happy.” He smiled down at you. “I know this is hard, but I love being a dad. I love my girl. Both of my girls.”
There was that word again. Love.
“Steve,” you started, sitting up on the couch and turning to face him as you talked. “What do you want for your future?”
“What do you mean?” he asked, furrowing his brows.
“Like, what do you want? Where do you want to be?”
“I want to be right here,” he said easily.
“No, but, you know what I mean. For the future. Do you want to get married to someone? Have more kids?”
Steve smiled. “Definitely. I want a big family.”
“Yeah? Even after all this?” you laughed sleepily.
“Of course. I want like, six kids.”
“Jesus.”
Steve laughed. “And…I don’t want to marry ‘someone’.”
You raised your eyebrows. “You don’t want to get married?”
“No, I mean, of course I do.” He seemed flustered, something you didn’t see from him often. “I just…it’s someone in particular.”
Your heart sunk. Nancy, you thought. He had never gotten over her. He was still in love with Nancy.
“You. I want to marry you.”
You froze. You were sure you were just hearing things, going crazy from the lack of sleep and hearing the things you wanted to hear. He had not just said that. “What?” you said, the only thing you could think to say.
“I…” He leaned forward, placing his hand on the side of your face so you were looking at him. “I love you. I’m in love with you. I have been for a long time.”
You gaped at him like an idiot. “Steve…”
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said anything. I just…I’ve been waiting for the right moment for months, and I just-“
You cut him off by leaning forward and pressing your lips onto his.
Steve wasted no time in kissing you back, pulling you closer to him, closer and closer until you were straddling his lap as his arms wrapped around you and your lips worked together. You moaned against his lips, which drove Steve absolutely crazy.
He put his hands on your ass, grinding you against his lap. He was hard already, like he wanted you bad. Hell, you wanted him just as bad. He groaned into your mouth as your tongues started working together, his hands sliding up and down your body and feeling every part of you.
“God, you-“ he said, totally breathless and pupils blown wide in lust. “You are the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen in my life.”
That was hard to believe, especially when he’d been so head over heels for Nancy, who in your mind was so much prettier and better than you. But you could tell he was telling the truth.
“I love you,” you said between kisses, finally saying the words that had been on the tip of your tongue for months and months. “I love you. I love you.”
Steve groaned and held you even closer, his erection pressing up against you. It made you impossibly wet, grinding down onto him. You’d only had sex the one time in your life, and you’d thought about it every day since it happened.
“Can I take you to the room?” Steve asked, his voice low as he toyed with the hem of your shirt. “Our room?”
“Yes,” you told him, wanting nothing more.
He lifted you up with little effort, carrying you into the bedroom while you wrapped your arms and legs around him. He carefully laid you down on the bed, careful of your stitches. He pulled his shirt over his head, tossing it onto the floor before crawling over you still in his pajama pants.
He kissed all over your neck, making you whine, pulling slightly on his hair which made him groan. His hands slowly slid beneath your shirt, pushing it up and up until he took it completely off. You immediately covered your body up with your arms.
“Baby…” Steve murmured. “What are you doing?”
“I just…” you let out a breath. “My body is a lot different than the last time you saw it.”
Steve looked almost hurt. “Baby. You are beautiful. You carried and birthed my child. You could not be any hotter to me.”
Steve’s words almost had you tearing up, but you didn’t want to ruin the moment. You slowly lowered your arms, revealing your body to him. True to his word, Steve looked at you with nothing but love and desire in his eyes.
He kissed all over your body, your stomach, your chest, your neck, your lips. He was worshipping your body, loving every single part of it. “I’m gonna make you feel so good.”
He started kissing down your body, down between your legs, but you stopped him. “I just want you,” you said, your voice coming out more whiney and pleading than you meant.
Steve smirked. He pulled your pants and panties off the rest of the way. “Well, you have me.”
He pushed his own pants and boxers down, his large election springing free. He was even more massive than you remembered from your drunken night together. It was intimidating.
Steve kissed you on the lips again, a slow, loving, sensual kiss. You felt his tip at your entrance as he rubbed it between your folds, getting his cock nice and wet. “Are you ready?” he asked you, so quiet. You nodded.
He pushed inside, the stretch taking your breath away. Your nails dug into his shoulders as he set a slow pace, his face buried in your neck as he groaned in pleasure. “Jesus,” he moaned. “You are so tight. Feels so good.”
“You’re…huge, Steve,” you whined, making him chuckle breathlessly.
“Is it okay? Is it too much? Should I stop?”
“No, no,” you said quickly. “Keep going. Please.”
Steve obeyed, rocking his hips into you at a slightly
faster pace. The old bed creaked lightly beneath your movements, the headboard knocking into the wall. “Fuck, fuck,” he moaned. “God. I’m not gonna last long. It’s been so long, and you feel like heaven. My beautiful, beautiful girl.”
“Oh, Steve,” you moaned, back arching as he hit that bundle of nerves deep inside. “Feels good. Keep going just like that.”
He intertwined your fingers together above your head, his left hand holding onto your hip. He thrusted into you faster, faster, faster, making the hottest, most sinful noises as he neared release.
“I’m getting close,” he said, hips snapping against you. “Oh, fuck.” He readjusted so he had a hand to lean on while the other dipped between your bodies, rubbing tight circles on your clit.
“Oh!” you moaned at the sudden feeling, pussy clenching around Steve’s cock and making him let out the most pathetic whimper.
“Jesus- Jesus Christ,” he said, breathless. “You’re killin’ me.”
“I’m really close, Steve,” you whined, writhing under him. “Really close.”
“Go ahead and cum for me, sweetheart,” he coaxed. “Let me feel it. Make a mess all on my cock for me.”
Your lips parted in a gasp, eyes rolling back as an orgasm crashed into you. Your pussy clenched around his cock tightly, and Steve cried out, his hips stuttering into you. The second you came down from your orgasm he pulled out, jerking his cock a couple times before he shot ropes of his cum all over your stomach and tits, groaning as he watched. He came so much, covering you in it.
He admired his work for a few seconds as he caught his breath. He had never seen anything hotter. When he was finally back to earth, he hopped off the bed and ran into the attached bathroom, grabbing a towel and coming back to clean you up. “Sorry,” he said with a sheepish smile.
“It’s okay,” you said with a giggle. “That was hot.”
Once you were cleaned up, he collapsed into the bed with you, both still naked. Wrapping his arm around you, he pulled you close into him, spooning you and snuggling his face into the back of your neck.
“I love you,” he said. “God, I love you.”
“I love you too, Steve. So much.”
—
Things found their version of normal eventually. It helped when you could start getting out of the house with Ellie, just getting some fresh air and seeing the outside world. Carol came over a lot, so it wasn’t like you had been totally lonely, but there’s nothing like going out in public.
Ellie was 5 months old. You and Steve had been officially together for 4ish months, and it was going amazing. You had never been happier. You had driven yourself and Ellie to Bradley’s Big Buy on your own for the first time since her birth.
“You wanna ride in the cart?” you asked her, earning a big grin from the baby even though she had no idea what you’d said. You settled her into the front of the cart - taking the time to disinfect it with wipes first. Ellie held onto the bar as you pushed her into the store.
Bread…milk…pasta…dish soap…diapers.
You began grabbing the things you needed, Ellie totally amazed at the world around her. It was adorable to see. But just as you grabbed the bread and were about to leave the aisle, you nearly bumped into someone.
“Oh! I’m so sorry,” you said. “I didn’t-“
Nancy.
You froze, just staring at her. She looked different. She had a perm now, and it really suited her. She looked beautiful as she always did.
“It’s…it’s okay,” she said, her eyes roaming to Ellie in the cart. Ellie smiled big at her, and Nancy couldn’t help but return it.
“How…how have you been?” you asked her, unsure if she wanted to talk to you at all.
“Oh. I’ve been good. I got a job at the newspaper. Me and Jonathan just got an apartment together.” She smiled gently.
“That’s great,” you said, and you meant it. You were happy to see her doing well, to see her happy. “I’m glad things are going well for you.”
“Yeah,” she said. “How- how are you?”
You were surprised she asked. “I’m doing well. Recovered from surgery now and everything. Ellie’s doing fantastic.”
“I’m really happy to hear that,” she said, and she seemed genuine. “I heard it was a rough birth.”
“Yeah.” Ellie reached for you, and you grabbed her hand, letting her wrap her tiny fingers around yours. “But, you know, it was worth it. To have her.”
Nancy nodded. “I’m sure.” A pause. “Hows Steve?”
“He’s great. Working for his dad now.” You debated whether to continue. “We, uh…we’ve been together for about 4 months now.”
“Oh,” she said. She didn’t seem upset, like she had expected that. “I’m happy for you both. Steve’s…he’s a good guy.”
You smiled. “Yeah. He is.”
There was a moment of silence between you before Nancy shook her head. “Well. I need to get going, I’m just picking up lunch for the staff. It was…it was good to see you.”
“Good to see you, too, Nance.”
She gave you a polite smile before pushing her cart off. You watched her go, her curly hair disappearing into another aisle.
You weren’t sure what to make of the interaction. She certainly didn’t seem like she hated you anymore. But you knew you would never be friends again, and that part broke your heart.
Maybe there was progress to be made.
—
Life with Steve and Ellie was wonderful. Steve was an amazing dad- the best. He was also an amazing boyfriend. He made you feel loved and cherished, safe and cared for.
He worked with Ellie every day, first down on the floor with her for tummy time, then once she mastered that and grew older, he did his best to teach her how to crawl.
“You know, I crawled backwards as a baby,” he said randomly one day.
“Huh?”
“It’s true,” he said. “I just…” He held his hands up and mimicked crawling backwards.
You laughed hard. “That is so Steve.”
“What does that mean??”
At Christmas, he went all out. He spoiled her as much as he could afford, even though he knew she wouldn’t remember a thing about it or even understand it. Christmas day Steve was the one to wake you up bright and early- “It’s Christmas!!!”
You drank some coffee, taking pictures while Steve sat on the floor with Ellie, helping her open her presents. She was delighted with everything she opened, and you and Steve had a blast watching her enjoy Christmas.
Her first birthday party was a whole occasion, too. It was at the Harrington’s, since they had so much space. Even Steve’s dad softened in the presence of Ellie Harrington. Steve cried when everyone sang her happy birthday.
When you had been together for a year, Steve asked your mom to babysit so he could take you out for dinner to celebrate your anniversary. He wouldn’t tell you where you were going, but told you to dress fancy.
You wore a red dress that hugged your curves in the most perfect way. Steve nearly started drooling when he saw you. But you felt the same way about him, dressed up nice.
He took you to Enzo’s, a place you’d never been. “Get anything you want,” he said. “I don’t want you to worry about the price tonight.”
You tried your best to ignore the exorbitant prices as you scanned the menu, eventually deciding on a chicken alfredo. The food was delicious, you practically moaned when you took your first bite.
“I would order us some wine, but I get the feeling they won’t fall for my fake ID here,” Steve said, making you laugh. You drank sparkling water instead, still in the fancy spirit.
After dinner you shared a piece of chocolate cake. You speared a bite onto your fork and held it out to Steve, who happily opened his mouth to let you feed it to him before he did the same to you. You giggled, feeling both very grown up and also like a couple of kids.
After you finished dessert, you were full. You were ready to get the check and head home back to Ellie when Steve spoke up, saying your name.
“Baby,” he said. “I…I wanted to ask you something.”
You looked at him curiously. “What is it?”
He reached into his pocket, then stood. When he got down on one knee, you gasped, covering your mouth with your hands, the tears falling already.
He said your full name, looking deep into your eyes as he opened the box, revealing the most beautiful diamond ring you’d ever laid eyes on. “Will you marry me?”
“Yes! Oh my god, yes yes yes.”
Steve smiled as he slipped the ring onto your finger - a perfect fit. He stood and pulled you into a kiss as the entire restaurant clapped for you - a literal dream come true.
Forever with the love of your life.
Stay tuned for the sequel baby daddy series!!

drunk confession-a.hotchner
-----------------------------

-----------------------------
a/n: omg i just started watching dharma and greg (another thomas gibson show) and it's so funny like wtf (greg is such an airhead its adorable)
summary: aaron admits some very cute things when he's drunk.
pairing: aaron hotchner x bau! reader
warnings: none
-----------------------------
The team constantly forgets that you and Aaron are together. You two don’t touch each other at all during the job. Both of you are very pda-averse and you like your own space.
That does not translate to a drunk Aaron.
-----------------------------
It had been an awful case, and you’d decided to go out with the team for a few drinks. Somehow, Penelope and Derek had gotten Aaron so drunk, that his hands were all over you and he was sporting his little-seen smile. Your co-workers had decided to take the absolute piss out of him for it, which meant you were being mocked as well.
“She’s so beautiful,” Aaron gushed to the team as he slung an arm over your shoulder.
“Thanks baby,” you grumbled over the laughing of our coworkers. You could feel Aaron’s hand on your waist slipping lower and you knew you’d have to get him out of here before he did something down-right indecent. “How about we get you home? You look tired,” you offered and he nodded his head like an overactive puppy.
After one more round of embarrassing questions, you finally get Aaron into a cab and back to your house, thank god this case had been in Washington. You laid him down on the bed and hurried to the bathroom to take off your makeup and get ready for bed before Aaron got up to find you. Jack was long asleep, his babysitter left after you and Aaron came in, a surprised look on his face at seeing the man she’d known to be so put-together in such a state.
“Aar-” You started until you felt his hands on your waist and the rest of his body leaning on your. It took a lot of strength to keep both of you upright and not on the floor but you managed.
“I wanna go to bed,” he slurred.
“Then go back to bed,” you laughed.
“With you. Only with you.”
You giggled at him. “I’ll be there in 3 minutes, go lie down-”
“NO. I wanna do everything with you for the rest of my life, I’m not going to bed on my own,” he confessed with a shy smile. His confession sobered you up quite a bit.
“Aaron, what?” Your chuckle got caught in your throat.
“I wanna be with you for the rest of my life,” he smiled, puppy-dog eyes making you weak in the knees.
“You’re drunk,” you dismissed him.
“I’m in love,” he ‘corrected’.
“You’re very, very drunk.”
“I’m very, very in love,” he chuckled, pressing kisses up your shoulder as you washed away your makeup. “Imagine it, we’d get married in a nice church, go on our honeymoon in Italy- where you’ve always wanted to go.”
“What about Jack?” You smiled at him.
“He’d stay with Jessica for a couple weeks, I’d need some time to fuck you properly-”
“Aaron!” You chastised. Aaron became a lot more loose-tongued when he drank as well.
“What? You don’t complain,” he laughed and it made you laugh.
“You’re so drunk, and you’re going to be so embarrassed when i tell you in the morning,” you started to lead him to bed as he kept rambling on.
“And when we get back we’ll find out you’re pregnant, It’ll be a girl, of course. You’ll have no complications and then a year later we’d be pregnant again, twins this time, so we’d have to move. It’ll be two more girls, and then our last kid will be a boy but we’ll also be preoccupied with Jack’s pre-teenager hatred phase so our youngest will probably have the most troublemaker-tendencies, but neither of us will mind because he’ll be so cute,” He smiled. “We’ll get one of those big houses in the country on a bunch of land. And I’ll stay at home with the kids, and you’ll work lecturing at a college nearby and we’ll be so far away from all the horrors of the BAU that we won’t even remember what happened before.”
You didn’t even realise it, but you were tearing up thinking about this beautiful life Aaron had planned for the two of you.
“Doesn’t that sound nice?” He smiled and turned to you, his arms wrapping around your torso.
“That sounds perfect,” you whispered through tears. “Perfect Aaron,” you smiled at him and kissed his cheek.
“Good ‘cause I have the ring picked out, but don’t tell Y/n!”
“I won’t don’t worry,” you chuckled and kissed his cheek again.
You fell asleep excited to tell him all the embarrassing things he admitted, and excited about the proposal yet to come.

wip wednesday wednesday
finally remembered how to write! wahoo! thanks @screamlet for the tag; passing this on to @dharmaavocado @setmeatopthepyre @liminalmemories21 @alchemistc @beanarie @rcmclachlan and anyone else who wants to play. here's some more of my 8x11 fix it wip, no crying in baseball:
"Damn, Kinard," Donato says as he rolls into work the next morning. "You lose a fight?"
After a couple tylenol and a cold shower his face doesn't feel that bad, but he was right—black eye, bruise smearing over the bridge of his nose, and a rough night of sleep because he kept rolling over onto the wrong side. "I'm fine," he says. "I got hit in the face by a softball thrown by a thirteen year old."
She winces. "I thought you were doing better after the breakup, you know? Not—not going out and getting in bar fights, or whatever."
"I didn't get in a bar fight. I got hit in the face by a softball thrown by a thirteen year old," he says, as if that's somehow better.
As if on cue Richardson pokes his head in through the door. "Kinard, there's a woman out here who wants to apologize for her daughter hitting you in the face with a—Jesus! You get in a bar fight?"
Tommy pushes past him and heads out into the main hangar. "Hey," he says, offering the woman standing there awkwardly clutching her bag his hand. "Tommy Kinard."
"Oh my gosh," she says as she takes in his face. "I'm so sorry. Emma has terrible aim."
"But she has a ton of power," he says. "She just needs practice. Anyway, no harm, no foul."
"It actually looks like quite a bit of harm," she says. "I'm Tracy. I'm supposed to be their Scout leader but they've all given up on Scouts and decided they want to do softball instead and while I support everything they want to do, I honestly have no idea how softball works."
"It's like baseball, but the ball is bigger," Tommy says. "And they pitch underhand. And there's usually only seven innings."
"Right," Tracy says. Behind her Tommy can see most of the rest of the Harbor crew inching closer, ears first. "I don't know anything about baseball, either. And we were going to have their math teacher do it, but he had to bow out last minute. Scheduling, you know. It's state testing season. And then, well, another parent was going to give it a try, but she was in a horrible accident at Trader Joe's—"
"Sparkling water lady," Tommy says, nodding. "We transported her, actually. Crazy what those pallets can do when they tip."
"Oh, it's awful," Tracy agrees. "So finally we asked another girl's cousin, she's in college locally, but I guess there were some issues with her social life, and now the girls have no one."
"Right. The girls mentioned that."
Tracy nods, pursing her lips. The rest of A-shift has moved in so close there's no way to plausibly deny they're listening. Tommy braces himself. "Did you really volunteer? Or was my kid lying? Because we would be thrilled to have a firefighter as our coach. Especially one who knows how the game works."
"Not just a firefighter but a firefighter pilot," Richardson cuts in.
"Oh!"
"Yeah, he got a medal for valor and innovative thinking last year," Donato adds.
"Oh, wow," Tracy says. Tommy feels his face heating up.
From behind him Melton comes and puts a hand on Tommy's shoulder. "Ma'am, if you were to ask me which of my crew I would trust most to take charge in an emergency, or to fly a helicopter through hurricane conditions, or to lead a group of high school girls—"
"Middle school," Tracy corrects.
"—middle school girls to a softball tournament, well, I would choose this man for all three."
"Sir," Tommy says, but Melton ignores him and guides Tracy over to his office.
"Now, being a dad, I know a little about the machinations of the community sports world myself, and I know how hard it is to get things scheduled…"
The door shuts behind them, and Donato and Richardson and every other fucking joker in this hangar pounce on him like cats on a sickly tired mouse.
"I told you," he says, pointing at his eye. "Softball thrown by a tween."
"Hey, man, whatever it takes to get you out of this funk," Richardson says. "Glad you've got a hobby."
"I have a million hobbies," Tommy protests. "And I'm not in a funk!"
Everyone fidgets a little.
"…am I in a funk?"
Donato nods. "So it's, you know, really good to see you doing something that'll make you happy," she says.
Tommy presses the heels of his hands into his eyes, yelping when he remembers the giant fucking bruise on his face. Someone pats his back reassuringly.

ZZZ Headcanons
Help this game has taken over my free time I love these characters sm <3 Billy Soukaku and Ellen my beloved
Nicole: has a not so secret hobby of bedazzling anything and everything. It’s a real problem in the Cunning Hares apartment, nothing is safe from pink rhinestones and stickers
Anby: cracked at rhythm games to an alarming degree. Can do a 2 person extremely hard DDR song all by herself
Billy: I don’t know how they did it but they programmed an android with autism. Has his own version of a skincare routine which is basically just maintenance on all of his tiny mechanical parts. Can also gain power multiple ways, including solar power. The apartment complex where the Cunning Hares live had a blackout once and everyone used Billy as a personal charging port. Nicole promised to pay him in Starlight Knight merch.
Nekomata: cuts her own hair and offers to do it for other people. DO NOT trust her when she says she’s good at it
Grace: did gymnastics as a kid which is why she’s able to pull off a ton of backflips and flexible maneuvers in battle
Anton: uses actual cement to keep his hair spikes in shape. Koleda caught him in the act once and instead of chewing him out, she decided to apply some to her own hair and now they’re cement combover gang
Ben: is completely vegan and loves chilling at hot springs a lot. Still sleeps with stuffed animals btw
Koleda: I’m making it canon right now Koleda is trans and you can’t do shit about it. Also has welding as a hobby and made most of her accessories from scratch
Corin: when not in Victoria Housekeeping Co uniform, is a Jfashion junkie. I’m talking super dedicated Lolita fits, menhera inspired clothing, the whole shebang. She ofc designs a lot of her own stuff like her bear backpack and is also responsible for a lot of the accessories Victoria Housekeeping Co wears (Rina’s bows, Ellen’s shark jaw head and neckpieces, Lycaon’s eyepatch and tail straps). She also has a massive crush on Ellen and is too scared to admit it
Rina: has a fur allergy and can’t keep animals around. Which also means she’s allergic to Lycaon. She has to take so much Zyrtec before clocking in but has such a good poker face that Lycaon has no idea. Ellen knows tho
Lycaon: specifically wears the heeled boots and has his odd posture because he’s self conscious about his digitigrade legs, he thinks they’re unsightly for a butler of his standing to have. He also tries to encourage Ellen to wear a long maid dress like Rina does to hide her tail.
Ellen: coincidentally falls into a lot of shark stereotypes. She loves seafood, has to constantly be fidgeting or she feels like she’ll go mad, and the kicker, she gets frenzied around blood, or if the thing she’s fighting puts up a struggle. Corin accidentally cut her hand while repairing her saw blade once and both Lycaon and Rina could barely hold Ellen back once Corin began bleeding. Ellen feels awful for scaring the already timid girl. Corin secretly thought it was hot and would die on the spot if anyone knew that
Soukaku: despite being a huge foodie this girl cannot cook for shit. Is also physically cold to the touch and during the summer her coworkers will ask her to hold their drinks because they’ll stay cold. Soukaku always secretly sneaks sips every time they do this to her.
Miyabi: has the worst sleep schedule known to man. Sometimes you’ll find her awake at 3AM and conked out by 4PM, other times she goes to bed at 8PM and wakes up at 4AM. It’s inconsistent and irregular and a gamble trying to contact her outside of work because she might not even be awake
Harumasa: GAY GAY HOMOSEXUAL GAY. Also pretty cracked at chess and other strategy games. Is also a major old fashioned guy and doesn’t own a lot of modern technology. He’s not into retro or old stuff, he just doesn’t like new stuff
Yanagi: her glasses are fake. When she was younger she needed them, but her vision had naturally gotten better over the years, so she now wears contacts, but for some reason still insists on wearing her glasses. Loses them constantly during battle.
Lucy: even though she was forced to play piano as a kid, she really wanted to be a sporty girl and play stuff like soccer and baseball. Now she has the freedom to take part in the sports she likes and watch them surrounded by the people she likes
Piper: insanely picky eater to the point it drives Lucy up a wall. Is also picky about a lot of other things, like how different fabrics feel, different comfort levels of chairs and beds, girl is a complainer and will always find something to complain about
Lighter: has a side gig as a tattoo artist, has really stable hands too
Soldier 11: has 5 younger brothers, a younger sister, and 2 older siblings who she doesn’t see super often. Has divorced parents who also liked to adopt, which is why she has such a huge family. Her younger brothers love it when she comes home and plays secret agent military with them
Seth: can’t drive. That’s it send tweet.
Qingyi: is outwardly dismissive of meditation tricks and hacks and tips but utilizes that shit in private ALL the time.
Zhu Yuan: shares the vegetables she grows in her garden with all her neighbors. Is also a REALLY good cook to the point people have encouraged her to potentially consider a different career path
Jane Doe: the rat girl has pet rats go figure. But in all seriousness she’d die for her little guys. She has a white one named Cocaine and a brown one named Tobacco and a gray one named Crystal Meth. She thinks the names are hilarious and every time she introduces the rats to other people their facial expressions are priceless

Force in Nature | Platonic Yandere Trey Clover x Toddler Reader
Part 2
Being a child, in your experience sucked. Even with a developing mind there were constant reminders of all your faults. Short, weak, disadvantaged and constantly at the whim of adults. Most children wouldn’t mind so much, considering that the adults in their life mean well but not you. Never you.
“(Y/n) don’t give those fat brats anymore then that. They’re already eating us out of house and home.”
The drivel of your mother rings like a bell in your head. Always chastizing, always negative. It had gotten better now that she had found your father but it wasn’t enough. It was never enough. In her mind she figured his children were the only obstacle left between her ‘happily ever after’ with your father.
“Ace! Deuce! Did you break into this pantry again?!”
It didn’t help that the twins were rambunctious spitfires that were prone to trouble anyway. Which meant they were often forced to reach out their hands to suffer the wrath of the ruler. Their father was a popular man, often more focused on updating the town’s bulletin boards than disciplining his children but it was clear he loved them.
But love was never enough to save the duo from your mother’s accusations.
At least once a day, your mother would report the twins for doing or saying something awful. It would always lead to an exhausted sigh before stomping over to the children to give another lecture and dish out some chore as punishment.
“This so unfair, we didn’t even do anything this time.”
“Well I know I didn’t. Maybe you did something Ace.”
“What!? How dare you blame me! Don’t you believe me, (Y/n)?”
You usually were a witness to their innocence, often spending your time with them anyway. But for whatever reason not being able to speak meant your written testimonies were invalid. No matter how many times you wrote in you’re book and presented it to your father it never seemed to work.
“You’re so sweet (Y/n). Trying to save your big brothers; you know that lying doesn’t help their case anymore.”
It was fine when it was only that. Baseless accusations and then the punishment of simple chores. Every now and then a prank in return for their suffering but then the chilly warning of Autmn came around. While the likeness that the snow would pile too high was low, the scarcity of food was a guarantee. Already aware of the set portions you’d receive suddenly decreasing and the way your father didn’t dare eat with you all any more spoke volumes.Unfortunately your mother wasn’t all too fond of cutting material costs.
“Cater I’m telling you, we’ll never get to eat if we have those kids in the house.”
“But love (Y/n) would never survive the trip into town.”
“Not them you idiot! They hardly eat more than a rat! It’s those boys of yours! They’re so big they ought to be hunting for their own by now.”
“The boys…not them they are still children too.”
“Stop whining. I’m going to take them out tomorrow, to learn how to hunt.”
“You?! But you’ve never—”
“Shut-up! Maybe then I can get those kids to do something worth the wasted meal.”
Reporting to your brothers the plan for the day felt like being the espionage detail for a secret operation. It made you proud when they used their information to concoct their own plan. They deduced that she planned to ‘lose’ them during her hunting lesson. Thus Deuce’s genius-plan to leave stones leading to the house was born. It was a shame that this plan didn’t involve you in any way but you were happy to see Deuce leaving stones behind as your mother led him into the forest.
Trying to comfort your father for a decision he didn’t protest felt odd. Of course, you wouldn’t understand the emotional struggle of his love life and the love of his trouble-causing twins. You are a kid, you aren’t supposed to know. Still, you let him hold you, mumbling curses to himself about cowardice as your mother opened the door. She huffed and puffed about him not greeting her before going off to prepare dinner.
Unable to resist the urge you settled on the chair beneath the window. Watching the opening into the forest being led to by the stones. Sure enough, before the sun had set and the fourth time your mother had called you for dinner they were there. Appearing slightly dirty but determined they came just in time, much to your mother’s dismay.
Of course, what followed was a new plan for tomorrow.
“I’ll take them deeper in! And I’ll make sure to kick all those pebbles away”
“Please let’s just–”
“Starve!? We’ll barely have enough for dinner tomorrow! They must go!”
“But it’s so cruel.”
“Do you have a better idea?”
The silence from your father was telling and like before you reported to your brothers. They took your notes with just as much urgency as the last, instead trading their stones for crumbs from the sliver of bread they’d be given for lunch. At the time it sounded like a great idea.
But as the sun set and the critters of the forest picked at the crumbs left behind, it dawned on you.
This was a terrible idea.
With a quickly scribbled note left on the window sill, you took a ball of yarn tying it to the bush near the forest opening. Following the disappearing trail of critters, you were walking in the direction your brothers went finding that it stopped in a clearing. From there the moon could no longer illuminate the crumbs still left and the critters weren’t leading you accurately anymore.
It was getting colder. The woolen sweater and mitts are your only comfort. With a rumbly tummy and the heaviness on your eyelids increasing, you settled into the dirt. Promising you’ll find your brothers when you wake, staving off the fear from your shrunken spool of wool.
When the sun rose again you woke with renewed vigor. The pain of hunger leaving you for the time being you set your gaze to the ground. Of course, the crumbs were gone but vague indents in the dirt gave you enough of a guide. During your tracking you start the game of letting your smaller shoes take a fraction of their tracks following along as you replay a song your father would sing.
Eventually, the tracks stopped at a paved pathway, it smelled sweet like a candy you’d seen the twins eat. It made you curious but you trusted your judgment to ignore your hungry thoughts. The tracks didn’t continue past the pavement and knowing your brothers they’d certainly gave the brightly colored path a try.
The grumbling desires of your stomach weren’t spoiling your resolve— or that’s what you were telling yourself. Going down the hill the path led over it’s destination led you to a place you swore shouldn’t have existed. In a clearing, the candied path led to a gingerbread house, decorated with various frosting, gumdrops, and red vines. The fence around it was peppermint canes surrounding the sugary house invitingly. A perfect garnishment for an already delectable house. Your stomach agreeing you found yourself closing in on the gingerbread foundation perfectly level with your small mouth.
Before you could dive in, you stopped. Thinking back to nicer days in the forest you remembered thanking the squirrels buried in the trees surrounding your cottage. Instead of burrowing inside your warm, inviting home they kept to their holes in the nearby trees. Of course, your young mindset wouldn’t have comprehended why animals that wanted to survive avoided the cottage. But that was beside the point.
Your manners for the owner of the candy house would not be affected. Even though your stomach churned almost painfully at your denial. To make it easier you turned away from it crouching down to hold the grumbling organ. Repeating that you could eat when you returned with your brothers to share—no matter how little was left.
“You are allowed to eat you know.”
The sultry voice of a man stopped your internal thoughts, peeking your head over your shoulder to look at the interruption. In the doorway of the house was a tall and handsome man, he reminded you of the young bachelor in town. Wearing a tight black long-armed shirt lined with rhinestones, your mother would envy. The dangling sparkles matched his pants which were long and wide at the ankles. His attire was interesting because you’d never seen it before, the man’s face was just as alarming. Hair as green as the surrounding trees was flowing to his waist contrasting his black outfit in a ragged but neat look. It was like a halo of green against his pale skin, golden eyes, and pink lips.
“You look hungry, why don’t you take a bite?”
The way he said it was hypnotic. An inviting and comfortable thrum of a voice that started to pinprick into your morale. You shook your head as if that would expel the greedy thoughts threatening to take hold. You hurriedly pulled out your notepad writing as neatly as you could. Holding up your notepad, you hoped he could read.
'It’s your house…that’d be mean.'
He leaned in to see what you wrote, retreating back to the arch of the gingerbread door.
“I was the one who chose a candy house. It just comes with the territory.”
He flashed a smile, white as milk. You licked your teeth beneath your mouth, feeling the plaque build-up that you’re sure makes your teeth yellow. Thinking of brushing, your memories trickled the moments you’d had with your brothers. The excitement that came with using your toothpaste for anything but. It reminded you of your real objective.
'Have you seen my brothers?'
The man tilts his head. You proceed to draw them to the best of your ability; trying to use the charcoal to detail the colors of their hair, and their height compared to your own. It’s hard to tell if he knows anything as his small smile hasn’t waivered. But as you scribble and point you worried he’d stopped listening.
“How about you come inside, have a bite, and I can help you find your brothers. That sound like a plan?”
You nodded. Standing up, you rushed to his side to grab his extended hand letting him lead you inside.
'My name’s (Y/n), what’s you’re name?'
“Trey. You can call me: Trey."
'Nice to meet you, Trey!'
“Likewise.”
______________________________________________________________
Trey Clover loved to eat children. It was in his nature to come from a long line of baking witches. It wasn’t a trade secret that children extend your life and beauty; the real secret was how to craft the potions with the children to make delicious desserts. Forest animals and pesky adults were fine ingredients but nothing was more fulfilling than a child’s soul. They were also much nicer to have as victims. They cried sure but they were dumber, more gullible, and so much easier to fatten up. But for all the children he’d consumed over the past century, there was something Trey could definitively say was the truth.
That Trey Clover loved children. His family ruled him as demented for such a thought but it was the truth. For all the fulfillment he’d have after his rejuvenating meals, there was still a resounding sorrow that nothing he could make would overshadow. Nothing but the shining presence of another child.
Trey rationalized that he wasn’t crazy, humans had pet pigs all the time. He’s no different in that way. That every now and then the thought of keeping one crossed his mind, diminished at the thought of one thing or another. Whether it was a spark of brattiness that was hidden behind a sunny demeanor or just the undisciplined actions of a bully in the making. It reminded him why he’d never let himself feel too bad as he tossed their belongings into the basement after a satisfying meal. He figured it was natural selection. Like any other predator, he looked for the weakest, the slowest in the pack to pick off and sustain him for another ten years.
But he’d begun to waiver with such an innocent soul in his grasp.
“How was that? Was it good?”
'But my brothers–'
He'd close the pad before the question was asked.
“Your head is so warm, I think you’re coming down with a fever.”
Cradling the young child, he settled to swaying them to sleep. His usual victims were not so young, often much older and more defiant. That is why it was such a treat to have a well-mannered impressionable little toddler to care for. With a resolve to their mission that was unavoidable, it still was nothing against the bedtime routine he’d been taught long before. He couldn’t remember if it was his mother or one that he’d eaten but she detailed the way to care for small children with such pride. In his heart of hearts, he’d admit to having eaten her out of envy. But now she proved more useful than her bones as he ran a bath for the yawning toddler.
Distracting them with talks of nothing as he gently wiped the grime off their little body. He had to refrain from frowning at the signs of a rash on their back. He was blankly staring at the untreated patch, cursing the adults who’d allow a sick toddler to run through the woods. But from their other children’s stories, they weren’t all that good to begin with.
The sound of a sneeze reminded him of his task.
“Bless you. After your bath I’m just rub a little ointment on your back before you settle down okay?”
They tiredly nodded, Trey resisted the urge to coo.
“You’re doing a good job staying awake. Let’s finish up before you fall asleep, okay?”
His parents were completely right about him. What sane witch would have a room decorated for a toddler already made, already infused with sleeping herbs that’d erase the thoughts of the past?
“Goodnight, my sugar cube.”
The notepad had been abandoned long ago. The urge to burn it was growing.
“Tomorrow we can look for your brother.”
The demanding sign of '2 brothers', made him laugh. Not after today you wouldn't.
“Maybe one day sugar cube, sleep tight.”
Kissing (Y/n)’s head and waving as he closed the door, Trey was elated. It was difficult to wipe the smile off his face when he unlocked the basement door.
It wasn’t just as he left it per his instructions to the bratty boy. Ace was far too skinny to be worth a good meal and from what Trey could tell a decent worker under stress. Trey figured it’d be hard to break his spirit if the other boy was around. Of course there was a chance it'd return with his little one. Trey would bet on fear and duty overwhelming him and he’d fall right into place.
“I see you’re working extra hard. Good.”
______________________________________________________________
Ace stopped sweeping, his little knuckles white as he fought the urge to scream at the witch. He only wanted to see his brother. After the first night, he knew rebelling would get him nothing but trouble.
“Can I see my brother now?”
Trey hummed closing the door behind him, he didn’t bother to lock it. He knew the boy wouldn’t want to leave. He took the ring of keys from his belt twirling around his lithe finger as he stepped deeper into the basement. Ace stuck close to his side, waiting anxiously to see his brother again.
The last time he saw him, his face was wet with tears. His hands were still sticky from the treats they’d gorged on, angrily shaking the unmoving metal bars around him. Ace couldn’t sleep if he tried.
“Before we go in, you two have a younger sibling. (Y/n) was it?”
Ace’s already sped-up heart-rate, went seconds faster. The collection of little papers in his hands with a tattered cover was far too familiar.
“They sound so determined to find you two.”
“What did you do to them!?”
When Trey turned his head over his shoulder the sneer he gave, bore into Ace's soul like a needle. Flashes of the suffocating pain the night before demanding he fix his demeanor immediately.
“Quiet boy.” The command was like a heat rod, sweltering from such a short distance. He looked away from those golden eyes for his own sake. “I won’t be doing anything to them if you behave.”
The final warning hung in the air with the door now unlocked. The metal door swinging open was a cruel mirror of when they first accepted the invitation to eat some more. There were tables of sweets and pastries along the cracking walls of the room. A table with a checkered tablecloth and a painted chair were placed off to the right side of the room; waiting for someone to enjoy the decorative plating on its surface. But unlike the day they first arrived a metal cage was hanging from the ceiling and his brother Deuce was in it.
“I’m glad you ate. At least hunger won’t be the last thing on your mind.”
Trey’s off-handed comment was ignored as Ace ran to clutch at the bars separating him from Deuce. As best as they could they hugged one another, the cold and rusted bars a constant reminder of their unfortunate circumstance.
“Deuce I can’t let this happen! I have to do something!”
Deuce shook his head,” No, if you do anything bad he’ll eat you too! You’ve got to get back home and find Dad!”
Ace pulled at his orange strands, “I can’t he has (Y/n).”
Deuce’s serious face, quivered. His brave instructions became mute as he imagined their youngest sibling unknowingly falling into the same trap they did.
“You have to protect them. Please, Ace.”
The blue-haired boy couldn’t speak anymore his nose running and tears falling again. All he could do was clutch at Ace’s hands, attempting to put his forehead against the bars to feel his brother's. Ace was crying too, barely standing as he held onto his brother.
“Are you done? I’m not getting any younger over here.”
Trey's snide remark was not appreciated, nor was his giant hand pulling at the rags of his clothes, shoving him toward the oven. Ace didn’t need to ask for Trey to point at the brush and pan on the floor.
“Clean up the oven. The metal earrings from my last meal will make him taste worse.”
Ace murmured his distaste as he opened the oven door. Looking into the deep black mouth of the oven, it amazed him that whole people could fit in there.
It also gave him a devilish idea.
“Uhm I don’t know how to.”
Trey turning towards him was frightening, the black coloring around his eyes flaring with such disgust.
“Are you troubled? You just go in and sweep the ash at the floor of the oven.”
Ace pretended to look into the oven before jumping back, “Are you sure there’s not someone down here?”
The witch was prepared to punish the boy but he thought of the toddler upstairs. He had dreamed of the day, he would be called to check the closet for monsters. He figures if he’s keeping the defiant one, he should show some of the same care that he’ll be showing for (Y/n).
It’s all too easy for Trey to climb inside, having done so on his own, hundreds of times before. Crawling to the back he felt the child coming up beside him, immediately making him grab the head of the boy.
Ace felt his stomach flip. Had he figured him out?
“We can’t go in at the same time, wait ‘til I’m done.”
“O-okay.”
As instructed Ace crawled back out, watching how the witch's body fully disappeared into the oven. Once his feet passed the threshold of the oven’s opening, he didn’t hesitate to close the oven door. Jumping up to flick the lock closed, Ace ignored the angry banging as he pulled at the red-colored lever to turn on the oven.
The feeling of the heat flickering to light brought a successful comfort to the orange-headed boy. The frantic banging from within the oven was as frightening as the demonic screaming from within.
“W-wait but the keys! He still has them!”
Ace assured his brother with the jingling object in his hand. Deuce pulled him into a teary hug once he’d been freed from the metal cage. The smell of sweat and burning flesh, never being so enticing. The moment between the two stopped as the banging became more and more apparent; the lock clicking as it held the oven closed.
“Let’s get out of here before he breaks out of there.”
“I agree.”
Deuce is the first to run through the door and out the basement; likely because of his time in the metal cage. Ace on the other hand faltered, snatching an armful of the pastries lining the room. He flipped the bird at the furnace and ran to lock the door to the basement door. Before he did, he took a moment to pay his respects to those before him. Bowing his head at the rows of shoes and belongings he’d organized, he apologized again before snatching a satchel. With the final locking of the basement door, Ace lets Deuce run up the stairs to search for their little sibling.
Allowing Ace to have free reign of the upper floor that had deceived them before. He was never considered a good kid but he hardly saw the appeal when he had no qualms about breaking whatever he couldn’t take.
“It almost makes this all worth it!”
Deuce, on the other hand, found you easily. The room had a distinct smell that almost made him feel safe. Going out on a limb he found his baby sibling curled up underneath a fluffy blanket. He easily tucked his arms underneath to carry them, he stopped to notice the spool of wool falling from their hand. Deuce put two and two together; smiling at the sleeping toddler in his arms.
“Thanks to you, (Y/n). We’ll all get to go home.”
The trip back was like a minor stroll. The original dangers of the forest were diminished to minor nuisances in comparison to the horrors they’d endured. Of course, the two still had other things to worry about when they did return home.
“What are we supposed to do about the step-lady?”
“Hm, I don’t know maybe we should push her into the oven too.”
Ace laughed and usually, Deuce would scold him for the macabre joke. But Deuce didn’t really consider that a joke nor was he completely against it. The brothers had plenty to think about as they each took turns holding their snoozing sibling.
It’s probably best they didn’t look back at the candy house.
For they might be filled with dread at force they awakened.

The CEO’s Hidden Flower: Part 2 (part 1)
The offices of Sukuna Enterprises thrived on efficiency, precision, and intimidation. Every employee knew their place, their role, and above all else, the iron-fisted authority of their CEO, Ryomen Sukuna.
No one slacked off. No one dared to waste time.
But today?
Work had come to a complete standstill.
It started the moment she walked through the glass doors again, the woman who had sent shockwaves through the company just months ago, stunning everyone with her warm demeanor, effortless beauty, and most shocking of all her identity as Sukuna’s wife.
But this time, she wasn’t alone.
“Hi again!” she greeted cheerfully, shifting the soft pink baby sling around her shoulders, adjusting the tiny bundle nestled against her chest. “I’m just dropping off my husband’s lunch. He forgot it this morning.”
The receptionist, who had barely survived the Great Muffin Incident of two months ago, nearly fell out of her chair.
“H-Hold on… wait… You already—? You had the baby!?”
She laughed, gently swaying on her feet as if soothing the sleeping infant. “I sure did! Two months ago, actually. She’s been keeping us very busy.”
The woman’s voice, warm and honey-sweet, carried through the office like a breeze, drawing attention immediately.
Heads turned.
People whispered.
The employees who had witnessed her first visit froze at their desks, their jaws going slack as they registered the tiny baby strapped securely against her.
One of the junior associates nearly dropped his coffee.
“Wait. Wait. Wait. That’s— That’s his—? He’s actually a dad?!”
“Holy shit, I thought we were still in the pregnancy arc!”
“I thought we had time!”
“She just—just casually walked in here with his baby like it’s nothing—”
More and more people abandoned their work, curiosity outweighing their fear of their terrifying boss. They inched closer, whispering in disbelief.
Finally, someone from HR, probably the most fearless among them stepped forward hesitantly.
“Oh my God… She’s already here?”
The new mother beamed and adjusted the baby sling, brushing a delicate hand over her daughter’s back. “Mhmm. She came a little early, but she’s happy and healthy.”
A woman from the finance department gasped dramatically. “So that’s why Sukuna took a leave of absence! I thought he was handling some shady underground business deal or something!”
Sukuna’s wife chuckled. “No shady deals this time. He was home with me and our baby.”
The entire floor processed that information at once.
Sukuna. Their Sukuna. The ruthless, cutthroat businessman. The terror of the corporate world.
Had taken paternity leave.
People were struggling.
One of the interns, a nervous young man, cleared his throat, staring at the sleeping infant in absolute awe. “U-Um… Would it be okay if we… got a peek at her?”
“Of course! Just be quiet. She’s sleeping,” she whispered as she carefully pulled back the fabric of the sling.
The moment they saw her, a wave of soft gasps filled the space.
The baby, tiny, peaceful, her little fists curled against her mother’s chest—had a full head of soft, rosy-pink hair.
Just like him.
“Yup. That’s his kid,” someone whispered in awe.
“She has his hair. Oh my God.”
“I— I never thought I’d say this, but I think I want to see Sukuna holding a baby now.”
The receptionist clutched her heart. “She’s so precious. What’s her name?”
The new mother smiled, running a finger over her daughter’s tiny fingers. “Her name is d/n.”
The group collectively melted.
“d/n,” one whispered, as if testing it out. “It suits her. It’s… delicate.”
“Unlike her father,” someone snorted.
The growing crowd around her had become so engrossed in the moment that they failed to notice a hazardous presence approaching.
“Why the hell is nobody working?”
The deep, thunderous voice sent chills through the air.
Like a spell had been broken, people scattered, employees darted back to their desks, some fumbled with their papers, and others tried to act like they hadn’t just been seconds away from cooing over a baby.
But his wife?
She simply brightened at the sight of him.
“Ryo!” she chirped happily, lifting the lunch bag in her hand. “I brought your food! You forgot it this morning.”
Sukuna’s sharp crimson eyes flickered to the bag, then back to her. His gaze softened, just a fraction, as he took in the sight of his wife holding their daughter.
A long sigh left him as he dragged a hand through his hair.
“Flower, you really shouldn’t be carrying her around like this. You just had her.”
She pouted, adjusting d/n's sling. “I’m fine! Besides, I wanted to get out of the house for a bit.”
“You could’ve sent a driver.”
She huffed, placing a hand on her hip. “And miss the chance to see you?”
He narrowed his eyes, but the twitch of his lips betrayed his amusement.
One of the braver employees coughed awkwardly. “Um, congratulations… sir?”
Sukuna barely spared him a glance. “Took you all long enough to figure it out.”
The employees collectively held their breath as their boss turned his attention back to his wife.
Then, in a move that should have been impossible, Sukuna, the merciless CEO, the demon of the corporate world, leaned down and kissed her forehead.
The office shattered.
Someone nearly fainted.
Another grabbed onto the nearest desk for support.
A senior associate actually whispered, “No fucking way.”
If the first visit had been a shock, this was earth-shattering.
Sukuna, completely unfazed by the chaos, exhaled and ran a hand down his wife’s back. “Come on. Let’s go to my office.”
She giggled, letting him lead her away, but not before turning back to the stunned employees. “It was nice seeing you all again! I’ll bring cookies next time!”
And just like that, they were gone.
What followed could only be described as pandemonium.
“HE KISSED HER.”
“He called her Flower......again!”
“Did you see the way he looked at the baby?”
“This man is whipped. He’s actually in love.”
For the entire week, nothing else mattered in the office. The legend of Mrs. Sukuna had only grown more, cementing her place as the most fascinating, most talked-about mystery in the company’s history.
And Sukuna?
He didn’t bother addressing the rumors.
Because at the end of the day, there was only one thing he cared about, his wife, his daughter, and making sure they had everything they ever wanted.
Even if it meant tolerating the absolute chaos she left in her wake.

content warning: angst, yearning, sad hotch, tension is THICC, mentions of abduction, guns, pregnant character, angry cops
pt1 pt3

Aaron still thinks about you most days. There was not much he clung onto from his years before, but you were one of the few he couldn’t let go of.
He supposed it was because you were one of the few things he never got closure for. You had just disappeared one day, completely untraceable as if you never wanted to be seen by him again.
And he didn’t know why.
It was a rather quiet day in the BAU. Morgan and Prentiss goofed off while Reid rambled on about…something. Aaron stuck it out in his office per usual.
He should have been doing paperwork, but his mind wandered elsewhere. It wandered to the picture in his wallet. He gazed at it sadly, wondering when it all went wrong.
The picture was of you and him: a selfie taken on a camera from when the two of you went to a store late at night and decided to cart each other around in the shopping carts.
Strange how some of the happy memories he had left, were of you.
“Hotch.”
He flipped his wallet shut, his attention now on JJ as she stood at the doorway of his office. “Everything okay?”
“Yeah,” he cleared his throat. “What do you have?”
“Multiple abductions in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Two girls, a woman, and a boy. All ranging in ages, but all related to officers under the police force.”
“What’s the time difference between each?”
JJ shook her head, flipping through one of the folders. “Three days.”
Hotch quickly pocketed his wallet and stood from his desk. “We’ll do the debriefing on the jet, alert the others. Wheels up in 10.”
To say it was chaos in Harrisburg Police precinct was an understatement. Phones rang endlessly, people rushed around and the sound of arguing echoed from the chief’s office.
“It's not usually like this,” one officer greeted. “This has become personal for a few of us and they aren't taking it lightly.”
Hotch scanned over the precinct, the uneasiness in the air radiating out to his team. “I suggest you take those officers off the case. We can't afford any distractions from anyone to interfere with this.”
“That's what were working on,” he nodded over to the office where four uniformed individuals crowded around a desk. “They aren't making it easy.”
Hotch’s frown deepened before looking around. “Do you have a space for my team to set up?”
“Yes, right this way,” he motioned for the group to follow him before turning back to Hotch. “Chief wants you in her office before we begin breaking things down.”
“Thank you.”
Hotch didn't know why he didn’t suspect something when he heard the shouting the first time. Walking closer, he realized he knew that voice. It was the voice that had haunted him for years.
“Do not question my authority again. The four of you are suspended from this case. If I hear another complaint, argument or so much of a whisper about my decision your guns will be confiscated until the case is closed. Am I clear?”
Aaron’s heart stuttered. His hand found the doorframe to grip as he watched in awe.
A small chorus of ‘yes chief’ followed your reprimand from all but one officer.
“Am. I. Clear. Smith?”
The man grit his teeth, staring you dead in the eye. “Yes chief.”
“You’re dismissed.”
Each officer left the room, leaving the two of you alone and suddenly you felt like kids all over again.
“Aaron.”
“y/n,” he breathed out. “I didn’t know—,”
“Neither did I,” you interrupted, knowing exactly what he was talking about. You felt your defenses slip away for the first time in a long time in his presence. You hated to admit it but it felt good. Seeing him again despite all of the years away.
But that look in his eyes, the pain and heartbreak. It took you right back to the day you fucked up.
It was almost as a spell was casted, Aaron saw your walls form again.
You cleared your throat and folded your arms. “There are only so many officers I can have on the field for this, so I thank you and your team for being here.”
“I- of course.”
Aaron had never felt so unsure during a case.
“Agent Smith says he was on the phone with her right before it happened and she hung up quickly,” you mused, standing in the front entryway of the Smith home with Hotch and Morgan. “Jessica Smith was 8 months pregnant when taken…”
“Which means she couldn’t have put up much of a fight,” Hotch finished your thoughts. Your eyes found his for just a moment and your heart stuttered in its chest. Had it been so many years ago, the two of you would have laughed about it, or shouted jinx, but not anymore.
“But she still would have put up some semblance of a struggle. She didn’t fight at all.” You cleared your throat.
Morgan looked oddly between the two of you, crossing his arms. “Right, so is it possible the unsub had a weapon. Threatened her to let him in.”
Hotch shook his head. “I don’t think so, the unsub had to be someone she trusted.”
“But didn’t want around the kids,” you muttered, eyes staring down the entryway.
Morgan furrowed his brows. “What makes you say that.”
Your eyes flickered up to Hotch, that’s where they wanted to go, but you trained them on Morgan instead. “The other kids were home, would’ve ran to the door to see who might be there.”
Hotch watches you carefully as you walk over to the door, your gloved hand closing it. “Mom makes it to the door first, sees the unsub through the peephole and recognizes him, but thinks it might not be a good idea for the husband to know he was there.”
You turn away from the door, facing the men. “She hangs up the phone abruptly, tells the kids to go play and leaves her phone right here on the table before opening up the door.”
You open the door slowly and step outside, noting the mud on the welcome mat leading to the the first few feet of the house.
“The mud from the prints match the ones at the other scenes, but they don’t run through the house…they stop here.”
“She didnt want him far into the house at all,” Hotch finished off again.
“So that means the unsub is someone each family knows and Jessica recognizes, but is a sore subject, not wanting her husband to know he was there,” Morgan theorizes.
“Someone who was fired or discharged,” you realized.
Hotch furrowed his brows. “Have you recently let go of officers.”
You nodded your head. “A few. But there’s no way to go through files like that without getting unneeded attention from other officers.”
Hotch turned to Morgan. “Call Garcia, tell her—,”
“No need,” you interrupted. “I have direct files saved to my personal computer. It’ll be faster.”
Hotch eyes stayed on you, contemplating his choices.
“Morgan, get back to the precinct, update the others. l/n and I will retrieve the files.”
The car ride was…awkward to say the least.
Hotch had a million things he wanted to say, he needed to say. But somewhere between his heart and his voice, it died upon delivery.
“Spit it out,” you blurted out suddenly, forcing his attention to you.
“What?”
“You’re twiddling your thumbs and biting the inside of your cheek. Every time you look at me you take this gasp of air. What do you want to tell me?”
So many years had passed and yet you could still read him like the back of your hand.
“That was impressive back there…” he swallowed hard. “You’d make a good profil—,”
“Please don’t tell me you cooked up all of your guts just to tell me I’d be a good profiler,” you laughed.
It sounded harsh, but there was something in your tone that eased Aaron’s heart. He laughed too for the first time in a long time.
“No I guess not.”
However just as easily as the moment eased up, it easily tensed back into that painful silence.
“Why did you leave,” he blurted out finally.
Your smile dissolved so quickly, it pained Aaron to be the reason it was even there.
“I got an offer from UPenn. Full ride.”
Aaron frowned. “Congratulations.” It was genuine, despite how hollow his voice sounded. “But that’s not the real reason is it.”
Your voice suddenly felt very raw as you attempted to swallow back your emotions, but just as quickly as they left, it came back. “No…”
“Why—,”
“Because,” you burst out. “After that night, when you begged me to…” you couldn’t bear to finish that sentence. “…what we did…I couldn’t go back to what we were. It hurt too much to. I was ready to tell you everything when I saw you again but…you and Haley. She… I couldn’t do that to her.”
You were bearing your emotions out, on the verge of tears releasing every pent up emotion since that night and Aaron never felt more stupid in his life.
They had finally come at a red light when Aaron spoke up. “What night? What did I…what did I ask you to do?”
He was terrified of your answer.
But you. Everything in you stopped. Your heart, your brain, even your breath. Everything was so silent when you turned your head and finally looked him in the eye for the first time in ages.
“You really don’t remember?”
He shook his head. “No.”
No
No
No
His single word reverberated through your bones, sinking deep into your soul. What do you mean no?
You turned to the road, a humorless chuckle falling from your lips. “You don’t even remember.”
“y/n,” Aaron called your name with such desperation. “Please.”
You looked back at him, hearing that tone in his voice. Suddenly you were taken back to that night. Between the pleas in his voice and that depressingly sad look in his eyes, he looked just the way he did all those nights ago.
God how long is this light?
“You were drunk. Haley accused you of being in love with me. You begged me to kiss you to prove it was a lie.”
His heart squeezed in his chest and his lungs felt as if it was wrapped in barbed wire. It hurt.
“Did I?”
Your eyes flickered over to him for just a millisecond.
“Oh.”
“Yeah. Oh.”
part three out now!!

*french writer, i apologize in advance for my awful english!

You lift your eyes to him. Your conversation had already been weird, but you hadn’t expected him to drop a bomb like that. What are you supposed to reply to that? Instead, you stare at him, not knowing what to say or what to do. He seems like he’s waiting for an answer, but you don’t have any for him.
“I’m sorry,” is all that came out of your mouth.
“For what?” he asks as you take a deep breath, looking at the floor and nervously chewing your bottom lip.
“For wasting four years of your life.” You raise your shoulders before waiting for a reaction from him. But instead, he starts to chuckle, shaking his head.
“Is that what you think of us? That our…” He pinches his lips, searching for an alternative to ’love' “our relationship was a waste?”
“I don’t know. We were kids,” you reply, as his eyes seem to burn the side of your face before you see him take a few steps back.
Do you think your relationship was a waste? No. He was your first love. You experienced all your first times with him. First date, first time, first heartbreak. Jungkook sighs, shaking his head.
“I loved you,” is all that could slip from his lips as your eyes finally met his.
“I loved you too,” you whisper, feeling your throat clenching. And your words seem to comfort him a little. He needed to hear it. Even if you had told him multiple times back then.
“I…I’m going to be around more often.” He informs you, with one hand in his pocket and the other pulling the beer to his lips. “I don’t want us to be like all those exes who hate each other. Can we be friends?”
You never thought you would hear him say that one day. But you’re relieved. Between you, Jungkook was always the most mature.
“Do you think we can be friends?” You ask, arching a brow as he chuckles, raising his shoulders.
“We both moved on.” The tattooed man tilts his head.
“You literally just asked me to give you the reason for our breakup from 7 years ago." You roll your eyes, but he simply smiles.
“I’m curious.” He takes a step closer. “I just want to understand where I did it wrong for you to leave me without an explanation. Was it because of my snoring?” He jokes to lighten the mood, and you give him an amused look.
“I used to fall asleep to your snoring,” you retort with a slight smile.
“You’re the first girl— woman who’s not bothered about it.” he chuckles, shrugs, and sits on the grass. You imitate him, leaning against the wall next to him.
People can be annoyed by the snoring, but you have always liked his. The first week after your breakup, you didn’t sleep well with the silence surrounding you. Seven years later, you still leave the TV on at night.
“So… friends?” He asks, tilting his head in your direction. You hesitate for a few seconds before taking the hand he is offering and giving it a squeeze.
“Friends.”
“How’s your work?” It must be stressful to have so many responsibilities as a shop owner.” Jungkook tries to start a conversation, and you know you need to keep it going since he took the first step.
“I’m…grateful. I worked hard to do what I love.” You reply, pushing your dress down as you try to find a comfortable position without showing your private parts to the few guests around. Jungkook noticed, and he took off his jacket to cover your legs, even though you tried to refuse. That’s just how he was—genuinely kind without ulterior motives, “Thanks,” you mumble. “What about you?”
“I fixed some computers for grannies,” he nods, both of you laughing softly. “I applied for a job at the government, but self-employment is quite tempting. I'm not suited for a 9-5 job.”
"You were never built for that," you shake your head. Taking a sip of your champagne, you grimace, and leave the bottle between the two of you
“Tell me about it.” He laughs, finishing his beer. “I need to settle down properly before thinking of working for myself.”
“Where are you staying at the moment?”
“Jimin’s.” He raises his shoulders. “I do jobs here and there, as I said. But my degrees are not just for decoration. I’d better find a good use for it.”
“I can’t believe you really found studies to be a hacker,” you laugh as he looks at you, amused.
“I’m a pentester,” he corrects you, earning eye rolls from you.
“You’re hacking people to see if their security works. That’s the same.”
“Except, I do it legally.” He teases, lifting his finger.
“Right. That changes everything.” You add sarcastically, not feeling his admiring eyes on you. “At least you do your dream job.”
“I do.”
“We should go back to the party,” you suggest sighing and getting up as Jungkook hums, mirroring you. You hand him back his jacket, saying, “Thanks for that,” and he nods.
“No need to thank me,” he replies, pulling it back on his shoulders as you two walk to the door. “Hey. Do you offer a discount for new friends?”
You raise an eyebrow at his words, your eyes falling on his inked forearm.
“What do you have in mind?”
“Just some filling and a few colorings,” he explains, showing you the blank space between his tattoos. “My old tattoo artist sucked. I’m looking for a new one.”
Some part of you knew he was just making excuses, as his tattoos were perfectly fine. They need a few fillings, as he said, but otherwise, they look great.
“I double the price for the exes, actually.” You retort, and he laughs.
“Damn, Nabi, who hurts you?” He jokes, and you roll your eyes before freezing at the nickname. A few of your friends call you Nabi. The ones who are close. Hearing it from him makes your stomach almost drop. He doesn’t seem to see it. And it was for the better.
“Ask Jimin for the shop’s address. I’ll see what I can do for you.” You mumble, and he nods, pulling down his sleeves. “I need to go back to the bride. You know how dramatic Hyesun can be. She’ll think I abandoned her.”
“Right. Thanks, Y/N. I really... enjoyed our conversation.” He says sincerely, earning a slight smile from you.
“Me too. See you around... friend.” You wave at him before walking back to your friend group.

You sit next to Hyesun at Namjoon’s coffee shop. They were back from their honeymoon a few days ago, Hwan and you wanted to know everything about it. They went to Jeju and spent a whole week lovey-dovey.
“So, the next step is kids?” Hwan asks, crossing her legs as Hyesun almost choked on her iced coffee.
“Damn, Hwan, do you really think that marriage and kids are linked or what?” Hyesun groans. She gives a look to her husband, who’s behind his counter, offering his best smile to a client before catching her eyes and blowing her a kiss. “No, maybe after my thirties, but we want to enjoy each other as much as we can.”
“In other terms, they want to fuck on the kitchen’s counter like animals for as long as possible,” You muse, as she smirks and slaps your shoulder.
“Don’t laugh too much, miss, you still have some explanation to do.” Hyesun scolds you as you frown a little.
“About what?”
“About what?” Hyesun repeats. “Maybe how you disappeared with your ex in the middle of my wedding reception and came back with him, giggling and heart eyed.
You roll your eyes and take a sip of your black coffee.
“That’s pretty exaggerated.” You sigh as Hwan looks at the both of you, lost. Hwan joined your friends' group three years ago. She doesn’t know anything about your story with Jungkook. And Hyesun smirks, pulling her chair closer to your mutual friend.
“I don’t understand,” Hwan chuckles.
“Yeah, you weren’t there, but that lady here was in a long-term relationship a few years ago." Hyesun muses as you lean back in your chair, shaking your head. “She was supposed to be the one getting married before any of us.”
“Y/N?” Hwan frowns, not believing Hyesun.
“Yeah, Y/N.” Hyesun nods, “Hard to believe, right?”
“Yeah. I have never seen her with anyone since I have known her.” Your red-haired friend laughs as you scrunch your nose, amused.
“Can you focus on your marriage instead of talking about old stories?” You arch a brow, giving her a look.
“No, no, I want to know.” Hwan shushed you, shaking her hand in front of my face. “What happened? Why are they not together anymore?”
“Y/N is a self-sabotaging type of person.” Hyesun grimaces, “Jungkook was ready to offer her the moon if she asked for it.”
“Gosh…” You sigh, but your two friends interrupt you as you continue to sip your coffee.
“They have been dating since high school. How old were you when he asked you to be his girlfriend?” Hyesun turns to you as you wet your lips.
“Seventeen.”
“Right. They were like the couple goal back then.” Your best friend continues, while Hwan is listening attentively. “Jungkook always shouted out to the world that he was going to spend his life with her.”
“We were kids.”
“Shut up,” Hyesun says, stopping you as you chuckled. “Everyone knew from the moment you two started spending time together that you were meant to be.”
“Then why did you break up with him?” Hwan frowns. “You fell out of love?”
You take a deep breath and shrug. “No.” Was all you could reply, chewing the inside of your cheek, “I loved him when I ended things,” you add as both of your friends wait for your next words. “Oh my god... I broke up with him because he was about to leave for Japan, and I couldn’t follow him. Our relationship ended there. That’s it.”
“Japan is just two hours away from here. Jungkook would have made it work, and you know that.” Hyesun gives you a deadpan stare.
“He was going to be there for 5-6 years.” You retort, frowning. “What was I supposed to do? Wait for him here? What if our relationship couldn’t make it through the long distance? What if he started seeing someone there and I was unaware of it?”
“You and I both know that the Jungkook from that time would rather cut his dick off than cheat on you.” Hyesun defends Jungkook as you roll your eyes. “He’ll most likely cheat on his new girlfriend with you, rather than cheating on you with others.”
“You’re so stupid sometimes, Y/N.” Hwan shakes her head as you cover your face in embarrassment. “Now we’ll never know because you’re a scary little thing who’s too afraid to take a risk for her own comfort.”
“Are you really teaming up against me?” You chuckle, crossing your arms under your chest. You weren’t surprised by how harsh they can be. It’s how your friendship with these girls works. At least you know they’re genuine and not sugarcoating everything.
“I’m sorry, but have you seen that guy? I wouldn’t give up on him, even if he was a huge dickhead.” Hwan adds, and Hyesun nods behind her shoulder. “Shit.. I wanted to ask for his number, but since you have a too huge connection with him, I’ll just… watch him… from afar.”
“You still can, he’s single,” You raise an eyebrow, her face contorting into a grimace.
“Y/N, sweetie,” Hwan shakes her head, “He’s not a two-week boyfriend of yours. He was the love of your life. So, thank you, but no thank you.” She adds before Hyesun offers her a high-five.
“Anyway, you won’t dodge the question. What happened between you two at the wedding?” Hyesun tilts her head to you, pulling the straw between her lips in a sassy way.
“What do you think happened?” You chuckle, rolling your eyes.
“Something passionate, maybe a little make out session with wandering hands.” Hyesun raises her shoulders. You burst out laughing and shake your head.
“We simply talked.” You shatter their dreams as the two girls whine. “He asked me to be friends. I said yes.”
They both exchange a look before sipping their drinks silently as you frown. You hate it when they do that.
“What?” You groan, straightening up in your chair, and exclaim, “What?!”
Hyesun starts by saying “Y/N…” as Hwan giggles.
“Sweetheart, I’ll hold your hand when I say it,” Hwan adds, taking your hand dramatically, covering it with her other hand as she rubs it softly. “No ex stays ‘friends’. Either neither of you has moved on, or one of you is lying about their feelings.”
“Or none of them have loved each other.” Hyesun nods in agreement with Hwan, saying, “But we both know that… well, you both were crazy about each other.”
“So, do you still have feelings for him?”
“What?” You frown, taking your hand off Hwan’s when she asks you that question. “You’re both ridiculous. I don’t have feelings for him anymore. We were friends before we got into a relationship, you know that?”
“That’s not the same,” Hwan says, rolling her eyes.
“Yeah, you didn’t taste his dick the first time you two were friends.” Hyesun muses as you groan, pressing your forehead on the table dramatically.
“You know what? Fuck you. Both of you.” You sigh, shaking your head as they both laugh. “I’m sure he only asked me to be his friend to be polite anyway; I haven’t had news from him since the wedding.”
“Because you’re waiting for his news?” Hwan hums playfully.
“What- No! He wanted me to see what I could do for his tattoos—” you continue but they both give you an amused look. “Alright, shut up. I’m done talking about that.”

You were distracted by your thoughts while cleaning the room after your last client. After a six-hour-long work session, your back aches and your fingers are numb from the tattoo machine's constant buzz. But at least your client left happy with her new thigh tattoo. Spraying some disinfectant on the table, you start to wipe it meticulously.
“Sorry, sir, we’re closing,” you hear Baekhyun’s voice after the front door opened. “You can come back tomorrow; we’re opening at 9.”
“That’s okay, I’m not here to get tattooed,” The other masculine voice says as you straight up, leaving everything on the table and walking to the counter for a better view. "Is Y/N here?”
“It’s okay, Baekhyun, I’ll take care of it,” You add walking past your employee as he nods, “Finish the cleaning in the back.”
Baekhyun frowns, his eyes never leaving your face while you’re taking off your gloves and join Jungkook. He wears a casual, all-black attire, as always, with his whole sleeve tattoo on display and a beanie on his head, from which a few strands of hair fell to his neck.
“Hi,” he offers you a half smile.
“It’s late,” you reply, tilting your head as he chuckles and scratches the back of his head, his arm muscles flexing. Your eyes can’t help but follow the movement.
“The grannies computers,” he jokes, earning a smile from you while Baekhyun frown, noticing the sudden softness in your demeanor.
Jungkook’s eyes switch from Baekhyun to you a few times as you turn to the other tattoo artist who didn’t move a bit.
“Baek?” You shake your head, as if waiting for him to give you the privacy you asked.
“Oh, yeah, right.” He mumbles, giving Jungkook a last look before going into the room behind the counter, saying, “I’ll be here, if you need me.”
You roll your eyes and step closer to Jungkook, leaning your hip against the counter. “Are the grannies happy?” You ask as he offers you a shy smile and nods.
“A lot.” He confirms, before looking around the tattoo shop. “You decorated it nicely.”
“Thanks. Did you come alone?”
“Hm.”
An awkward silence fills the room before you chuckle, shaking your head.
“So, what can I do for you, Mr. Jeon?” You try to ease the tension by making a gesture with your hand, indicating his body.
“Huh? Oh right. I, uh, the fillings,” He explains clumsily, pulling up his sleeve to show you his entire arm, and you’re surprised at how his tattoos just…make him look hotter.
You step closer again and ask him with a look if you can touch. He slightly nods. Your fingers wrap around his forearm as you twist it to see all the ink on it, spotting every little blank space between his bigger tattoos.
“Your previous tattoo artist was great,” You mumble, too focused to notice his gaze tracing every feature of your face. “That’s not the same… work?” You frown at the way that some designs are rawer.
“The first one did some shitty stuff on my arm,” He whispers, his breath closer to your skin than you thought. You freeze, turning your face and immediately pulling back slightly when your noses almost brush. “The second made up pretty well. But you know what they say? The third time is a charm.”
Your eyes meet his, your fingers still wrapped around his arm as you take a deep breath, trying not to be too obvious about how nervous he’s making you.
“Well, not to be arrogant, but that’s the case,” You reply, and his lips curve into a side smile. “What do you have in mind for the filling?”
“You’re the pro here, I’ll let you decide,” Jungkook declares, your eyes falling back on his arm as you trail your fingers over the empty spaces, earning a shiver from him.
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah.”
“Alright,” You lick your lips, “I’ll need to take pictures of your arm to draw what I’ll do…” you add as your eyes fall on the moth on the inside of his arm, darker than the rest of his tattoos, right where the biceps muscle starts.
“Are you free on Saturday?” He asks with a softer voice, tilting his head to catch your eyes.
“I can take the pictures now,” You chuckle nervously.
“For dinner, I mean.” He clarifies as you look at him.
“A date?” You blink, unsure.
“A friendly date,” He corrects you, wetting his lips, as you take a few steps back, bumping your back against the counter, feeling stupid, but he didn’t move. “So?”
Of course, a friendly date. A simple dinner between two adults… two friends.
“Saturday,” You repeat, then nod.
“Saturday,” He lets out a soft chuckle, clearly pleased to see you so flustered. “You can say no tho.”
“No- I mean, yes, a dinner, Saturday.” You shake your head, frowning and catching your phone to take pictures of his arm as he laughs, “When you’re done making fun of me, let me know so I can work properly.” You groan, your camera app open while he smirks, showing off his tattoos for you to snap.

10 things + r. reigns

authors note: so, a lot of this stems from convos with the lovely @fearlesschimera where one tree hill was brought up. and i loved me some nathan and haley. plus, i'm loving everything about this otc era and needed to write something about it now vs having to wait with my other stories cause we ain't there yet lmao
might be a part two. idk if this even makes sense tbh
words: 3.1k
warnings: none, really? some language? kayfabe story.
There are exactly two sides to Roman Reigns.
The good side and the bad side.
And Nova Reigns has experienced them both with an unfortunate increase in the latter versus the former.
She can pinpoint exactly when it started, too.
When things started to get difficult again.
2020. COVID. While the world was an absolute mess, chaos and death occurring globally every day, her husband of over ten years wasn’t much better. He’d decided to stay home, not wanting to risk bringing home anything that could put her pregnancy with their first daughter, Arabella, Bella as they affectionately called her, at risk.
It was also so he could figure out just what the hell he was doing with his career. Roman was frustrated. Tired of going along with what was always told of him instead of doing it his way. And it’s why when he returned back to work that summer, he came back a completely changed man. Bigger, stronger, meaner.
This was a different Roman Reigns. The likes of which the WWE had never seen.
And it’s been a ride ever since.
Up and downs along the way.
A lot of ups up until WrestleMania 40 where after 1,316 days as the undisputed universal champion and unable to let go of a betrayal from so many years ago, Roman lost. He lost his title and something so much deeper that night.
His sense of self.
Nova did the best she could in the months he’d been off to keep his spirits lifted, to support him, often encouraging Bella to ask her dad to do stuff with her even when Nova technically could. Asked him to care for their two year old daughter, Camillia, Cami, as she worked from home, something she’s done for almost the entirety of her post college career.
But most importantly, Nova worked to help Roman repair the relationship with their oldest son, Roman Jr., RJ, as they’ve called him since the day he was born.
To say the relationship is awful would be an exaggeration. No, it’s just…..fragile.
A fragility that Nova has tried so hard over the past couple of years to strengthen to no avail. A large part of the issue being the fact that her twenty year old son is just as stubborn as his father. Twins, she often calls them. Similar heights, build, personalities, etc.
Great when they want to be. A pain in the ass when they don’t need to be.
A painful situation all around though, especially when she thinks back to how this all started, to how someone like Nova ended up with someone like Roman.
And it’s a simple answer, really.
He was an idiot.
Well, when it came to English, that was.
Once upon a time ago, Roman wasn’t the massive WWE superstar that he is now. He was just Roman Reigns. The typical, popular jock of their high school. A football player with the stereotypical ego to match. And she was just Nova, the geeky underclassmen who always had a secret crush on the boy she never thought in a million years would look her way.
And truth be told, if not for the fact his coach threatened to bench him if he didn’t raise his English grade, he probably never would have. Hell, she’s certain the only reason he knew she existed was because she was the best and smartest kid in class, so of course their teacher would recommend her for a tutor.
The answer was initially no. Not necessarily because she was opposed, but more because her crush on him was too big to not get distracted. Even though his jerkish tendencies should have done just that.
But Roman has always been charismatic and persistent, and before she knew it, she’d agreed. And that agreement changed everything because it showed her for the first time the nice side of Roman, the side that secretly loved music and was surprisingly good at math. The side that struggled with feeling like he’d never be good enough or live up to his family’s athletic reputation both in football and wrestling.
It made her realize and see that Roman was just as human as everyone else.
It made her fall in love with him.
And that was rocky, too. Navigating his constant struggle of wanting to admit his feelings for her while also being embarrassed about her and wanting to hide their relationship. It created a fair set of conflict, and Nova shed her fair share of tears.
Especially as she sat on the floor of her bathroom, plush, purple rug cushioning her bottom but not the blow that was the two lines on the pregnancy test in her hands. But, seven months later, with her mom on one side and Roman on the other, she shed a different set of tears. Different kinds of tears.
Happiness.
Happiness at welcoming her first child into the world, Roman Reigns Jr.
RJ
Being teen parents, especially at the tender ages of 16 and 18 was most definitely nothing like it was depicted on the reality shows. It was rough, especially as Roman started college, opting to stay local to help her raise their child as she finished her senior year. They fought, they argued, they disagreed, but at the end of the day, they still loved.
And it was that love that carried them through the rocky years of Roman trying to figure out just what he wanted to do with his life as Nova worked a job and raised their son while pursuing her degree in software engineering. She also stayed local to benefit from the help of her family while chasing her dream. It was rough, it was hard, but they did it.
Even with having to be on food stamps and financial assistance at times to take care of their child, Nova struggling to enter the male dominated workforce of tech and Roman not always having consistent income, they did it.
And they were happy.
They still are. Just….not like it used to be.
Nova still loves her husband with all of her heart and soul. They’ve been through too much together for her to ever really leave him, but she’d be lying if she said it didn’t cross her mind from time to time. Especially over the past four years, watching him almost revert back to that bully from high school as he manipulated and mentally abused his family, his cousins, his lifetime best friends so much so that the Bloodline he worked so hard to create crumbled right before him.
And it’s only deteriorated since he lost the title to Cody Rhodes. Solo had turned on Roman, brutally kicked Jimmy out of the Bloodline and invited in non-family. Week after week, taking shot after shot at her husband, his cousin, his flesh and blood.
Going so far as to take the sacred ula fala and declare himself the tribal chief. An honor that was bestowed upon Roman by the elders of his family. It finally reached a point where Roman had enough, making his grand return at SummerSlam and preventing his once enforcer from taking the very title Roman still believes is rightfully is.
He’s made intermittent returns since then, each one proving just why Roman Reigns is being considered one of the greatest of all time, even while still in the middle of his career. His aura is unmatched. The sales don’t lie. The numbers don’t lie.
The OTC is WWE.
But, Roman has been a bit on edge since he was unexpectedly jumped by his other cousin, Jacob, Solo’s latest dangerous addition to the Bloodline.
Nova especially knows he was even more pissed because she’d taken the girls to his show that night, at his request.
He hates looking ‘weak’ in front of him, despite the fact that both were too consumed in kids' devices to pay attention. But, she was. And if anything, it was hard for her to see him be attacked like that, all alone.
No one in his corner.
Jey’s moved to Raw.
Jimmy is still trying to figure out if he even wants to come back.
Solo has lost his damn mind.
Sami…..no comment.
And Paul is still recovering from his brutal assault by the new Bloodline.
The island of relevancy has a population of one. And while that one is formidable as all outdoors, he’s still just a man.
Granted, as much as it pains her to see Roman go at this alone, it’s hard for her to feel all the way bad for him. He did this. His actions drove his family away.
Well, not all of them.
“Game!” Bella’s soft voice pulls Nova from reflecting on memory lane as she redirects her attention to where her son sits on the sofa in Roman’s locker room, Cami on his lap, grabbing his phone.
RJ chuckles, unlocking the iPhone and asking, “what you wanna play?”
Cami gasps and claps her hands. “Cookie!”
“Cookie Kingdom?” RJ asks, clicking around on his phone and handing it to her. “There ya go, lil’ bit.”
Nova’s smile is warm as she reflects on what feels like so long ago. “I remember when you were that little.”
RJ looks up at her, and it never ceases to amaze her how much he looks like his father. Complexion a little deeper, melanin he inherited from her, but outside of that, Roman could never deny paternity.
He sucks his teeth. “Mama, don’t start that.”
“What?” Nova pouts, leaning back into the sofa, Bella tuned out of the conversation as she watches Bluey on her tablet. It’s always a bit funny to her how uninterested these kids just are when it comes to seeing Roman at work.
At least, not until he’s actually in their line of vision.
“You’ll always be my baby.” Because he will. Twenty and over 6ft tall or not, he’s her baby boy. “And speaking of baby, what’s going on with you and that girl you been dating?”
RJ rolls his eyes and adjusts Cami on his lap. He’s so good with his little sisters. “Nothing.”
Nova smirks knowingly, picking up on the faint hit of redness on his cheeks. “Sure don’t seem like nothing.”
“Mama, she’s just a friend.”
“So ya’ll aren’t sexually active?”
RJ turns up his nose, clearly disgusted. “Ma, how you just gon’ ask me that?”
“Because I’m your mama and not ready to be a grandma, and your daddy would kill you if you were to get a girl pregnant halfway through college.”
It’s not missed upon Nova how the mention of Roman seems to completely dampen his mood. RJ rolls his eyes. “Like he cares at all.”
His comment hurts her. Deeply. “RJ….”
“I’m sorry, I don’t mean to upset you.”
She ignores that apology, wanting to focus on the initial comment that has her stomach knotting for all the wrong reasons. “Your dad loves you, Junior. You have to know that.”
There’s a slight delay in his answer, and that alone is enough to make Nova know she needs to talk to Roman again tonight about actually talking with his son. A below the surface level conversation. A heart to heart.
“I know that, mama. I do. It’s just….” RJ blows out a breath and shakes his head. “You know how he is.”
She does. Very well. “You can say it. He’s an ass sometimes.” She’s so grateful for the headphones on Bella’s ears and the deep infatuation Cami has with her brother’s phone.
“You said it. Not me.” Mother and son share a laugh, RJ admitting, “I know he means well.”
“He does,” she agrees. “But, that doesn’t mean he can’t do better. I’ll talk to him again.”
RJ immediately looks like he feels bad, which only makes Nova’s chest ache more. “You don’t have to—”
She lifts her finger to silence him. “You’re my son. He’s my husband. I love you both, and it kills me to see ya’ll like this. I’m gonna do what I can.” And that’s a vow. The three of them have been through too much shit over the years for her to just allow the relationship between the two most important men to fall apart. She won’t let that happen.
She can’t.
And speaking of, the door to Roman’s locker room opens, her husband walking in looking every bit as strong, powerful, and determined as he looked when he interfered yet again with Solo’s match and especially as he closed the door of that cage and challenged Jacob.
Nova shifts in her seat, the memory bringing up other kinds of feelings which are entirely inappropriate given the presence of her children.
Cami is the first girl to notice him, lifting up her little arms and reaching for him, nearly dropping RJ’s phone in the process if not for his quick reflexes.
He most definitely got that from Roman as well, because Nova has not an athletic bone in her body.
Roman walks over and takes her from RJ, kissing her cheek, gaze almost reluctantly falling on RJ. “I didn’t know you were coming.”
Nova starts to scold Roman for such a cold introduction to their son they haven’t seen since he left for his sophomore year of college over a month ago. “Mom asked me to.”
She’s good at reading between the lines, picking up on the fact that he’s essentially saying he’s only here because of Nova.
Not Roman.
Roman notices this, she’s sure. He’s a perceptive bastard. But, he says nothing. “How’s school?”
“Fine.”
“RJ.” And her son can be a petty bastard. Like father, like son. She directs her statement to Roman, “I was thinking we could go to his game tomorrow—”
RJ, however, is quick to dismiss this. “You don’t have to.”
Nova’s gaze on Roman allows her to see the hurt that flashes in his eyes at the rejection. But as has been the case lately, he pushes it aside, replacing it with indifference. “You heard what he said. He doesn’t want us there, so we wo—”
“That’s not what I said.” RJ leans back against the chair and shrugs his shoulders, shaking his head, clearly frustrated. “You always do this. Always hear what you want to hear.” He scoffs, head turned, muttering, “I see why everybody left you.”
Nova gasps. “RJ!” She sees it, the hurt that’s just tripled and is about to be expressed in anger, leading to another big blowout between the two of them. Thankfully, this is the moment Bella finally becomes aware of Roman’s presence.
“Daddy!” She pulls off her headphones, climbs off the sofa and runs over to him, hugging his legs.
Roman doesn’t hesitate to pick her up, both daughters in his arms as Nova leans over, running her hand through her fresh silk press. This. This is what she wanted to avoid. These are the kinds of situations that leave her in tears as she vents to her therapist about her ever growing stress levels, how torn she feels in what to do in moments like this.
Roman is her husband, but RJ is her son. Neither is fully right, but neither is fully wrong either. How does one handle that?
Thankfully, it’s not long after that Roman is being called to prepare to get back out in the ring. This means a probably needed separation from the two titans in her life. Nova holds Cami this time, while Bella hangs onto RJ as they’re escorted ringside.
It takes a bit of persuasion to get RJ to agree to come with her. She can see he’s ready to just leave.
But, reminding him of how big a help he is with the girls seems to win him over because while he’s certainly not in the best of places with his dad, RJ is a mama’s boy through and through. He loves him some Nova and would do anything to help her.
Even if it means helping her with the two siblings that came as a complete shock to him.
It still makes Nova laugh a little as she recalls the horrified and almost disgusted expression on his face as she and Roman broke the pregnancy news to him.
“I didn’t even know ya’ll still did that.” And if his statement wasn’t bad enough, he just had to add insult to injury as the blunt almost 16 year-old he was at the time. “Ain’t ya’ll kinda old to still be freaking?”
No.
Never that.
“Daddy!” This time it’s Cami who’s calling out to Roman, recognizing his new music before he even emerges from the back looking as badass as he always does. Nova is temporarily in a state of awe, overhearing Bella asking RJ to hold her so she can see better.
Roman has come so far, done so well for himself, even with things with his family being a hot ass mess, there’s still no denying he is it. That he has it. It’s undeniable. She almost feels bad for Cody.
He’ll always be stuck in Roman’s shadow.
The thought makes her suddenly curious about what could be one of the reasons behind the strife between her firstborn and husband. Nova tucks this in the back of her mind, planning to discuss it further in therapy.
As Roman moves into the ring, Nova stands on the sidelines, holding her baby girl on her hip, smiling back and forth between the two. She watches Roman move around the ring on their commercial break
And when his gaze falls on the set of them, her heart swells as he mouths ‘I love you’ before seamlessly transitioning back into that hardened, determined expression.
And this is why there’s two sides to Roman Reigns. The good side being the one that she sees in that brief, vulnerable exchange. The one that used to kiss her pregnant stomach as he confided in her his fears about not being a good dad, about feeling not ready, about worrying about failing in life.
Failing her.
Failing himself.
Failing their child.
The man who worked so hard and gave everything his all to prove he was someone, becoming that someone, yet somehow losing something in the process.
Nova knows it’s still in there though, knows that he is still the boy he fell in love with many moons ago. She knows that as frustrated as he makes her, as cold he can be, as disconnected he can seem, that love is still there and just as strong.
And she’ll fight for it.
For him.
For their son.
For their family.
She has to.

𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐀 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑

⟣ sypnosis. suguru is busy with work and leaves you alone with mimiko and nanako for a bit. when he finally returns, he spends some quality time with the three of you.
⟣ note. just thinkin abt suguru who’s all soft 4 you and his two adopted kids (if i say he’s adopted them, he did shhhhh)
⟣ tags. geto suguru x female reader. pure fluff. reader gets called ‘sweetheart, honey,’, mimiko and nanako play w ur hair & call suguru ‘dad’ because … yes.

“nanako. . ! i’m telling you, that clip looks much better over here.”
“nu-uh, not true, mimiko. looks better over here !”
the sisters argue back and forth, leaving you awkwardly shifting in your seat as you did not know what to do or say in such a situation. your only intention by visiting suguru’s work environment was to see him, but it turned out that your lover was currently unavailable. thus why the two teenagers ended up escorting you to a nearby waiting room.
they promised to keep you entertained until their ‘master’ was done with his meeting. the said entertainment was actually just you being their test subject.
your hair was getting played with, put in multiple hairstyles which they undid if they didn’t like, hair clips randomly landing somewhere on your locks, four hands moving everywhere on your head—nanako and mimiko were having the time of their life playing the hairdresser part. but of course, they wouldn’t be siblings if they didn’t fight over the smallest of disagreements.
their little squabbles went on until a sweet voice cut through the bickering;
“how about we add this here?”
suguru appears out of thin air, leaving all three of you shocked. you felt something being put in your hair, his hands carefully wrapping the object between the strands whilst his eyes looked down at you like you were the only one present in this room.
“are you ladies alright? you seem to be in quite a shock.” the dark-haired man muses, thumb gently grazing against your cheek once he retreats his hand from your face.
the two sisters took a second or two to process suguru’s sudden appearance before the dark-blonde one jumped up to greet him—eyes glimmering as she seemed to instantly forget about you or your hair which she was busy with; “dad ! hi!”
your eyebrows raise in surprise as you hear nanako refer to suguru as her ‘dad’. she usually calls him ‘master geto’ when she’s with you. the same goes for her sister, although she was a bit more reserved;
“hi, we missed you.” mimiko smiled and waved at suguru, walking up to him after her twin did. both sisters look up at suguru expectantly—as if they were waiting for something to happen.
“aw, how sweet,” suguru hums, ruffling their hair, which was probably the ‘thing’ they were waiting on, “i missed my girls too.”
you weren’t forgotten either. suguru bent his head down to leave a soft kiss on your cheek and flashed you a loving smile; “i hope they treated you well while i was away, sweetheart.”
his manner of speaking left your heart beating in your throat, the familiar warmth spreading across your entire chest the moment his lips landed on your skin. any more and you’d be unable to hide your embarrassment.
“they did. they’re the sweetest.” you nod shyly and the sisters immediately turn their head towards suguru once more. this time they were in need of validation. most preferably in the form of verbal compliments or anything close to it.
suguru chuckles. he could recognise that body language from miles away.
“i can always count on you two.” he sighs in content and takes a seat across from you, eyes flickering from one sister to the other, “thank you for taking care of her.”
nanako and mimiko look at each other and giggle to themselves, whispering some things you can’t hear, but you can guess that they’re gushing about getting complimented by their ‘dad’. it was adorable—the dynamic between the two sisters and your lover.
“i don’t know where to look, honey. they sure did go overboard with the accessories.”
suguru comments on the current state of your hair, causing you to turn your attention towards him. he was staring back at you, a charming smile tugging at his lips whilst his hands were searching for yours.
you looked flustered at the sudden remark and laugh sheepishly in response, “yeah, well, they had fun so.. i kinda just let them do whatever.”
suguru hums whilst his eyes take your in beauty. you somehow look even prettier with all those hair clips on. the thing he added was the cherry on top;
“it sure is a pleasant sight.” he murmurs, voice tender and sultry—eyes sharp yet soft, “two flowers creating a harmonious look— how gorgeous.”
you tilt your head at his comment; yes, it made you weak in the knees again, but you tried to unveil the reason behind his use of words. two flowers?
that’s when you notice how his eyes flicker from your face to a specific place on your hair. you detach a hand from his, bringing it up to feel the object suguru put between the clips, only for your skin to come in contact with a soft surface—a thin layer which was nice to the touch.
“over here, sweetheart.”
the voice calling out to you had its desired effect; you turn your head towards it and are surprisingly greeted by your own reflection. suguru held up a small mirror in front of your face, allowing your eyes to finally see the addition to your hair;
a flower. a pretty one. you’d guess it’s some kind of orchid— suguru’s favorite since he’s mentioned before that they reminded him of you.
“thank you, love.” you press your lips together. your eyes were avoidant as expected. suguru knew you didn’t dare look him in the eyes whenever you’re flustered. a habit that makes his love for you grow stronger than ever.
“how cute,” your lover says whilst holding onto your chin, guiding your gaze back to his. his lips form a lovestruck smile once you lock eyes, “don’t ever hide that pretty face from me.”
you could feel it; his fingers that gently tug you towards him, your upper body leaning forward whilst his does the same, the longing growing in both your bodies, your hands searching for a place of stability on his shoulders, his face tilting a bit, lips parting ever so slightly—
“ehem,” a girl’s voice disturbs the romantic scene, making you almost jump out of your seat. it seems like the two of you entirely forgot about the sisters who were still in the room with you. they did want to leave you two alone and escape the space silently, however they also craved attention from suguru at the moment; “we still exist, dad.”
“oh, dear.” suguru chuckles, giving you a quick peck on the forehead instead of the lips like intended, leaving you a bit disappointed. his hand reaches out to gently pinch nanako’s cheek for her interruption; “i have my hands full, hm? come here you two.”
one arm wraps around your waist whilst the other is stretched out as an invitation for a group hug. the two teenagers waste no time and jump into suguru’s embrace, of course, including you in their comfy hug. mimiko’s arm was draped around your shoulders, pulling you closer to their shared warmth—small giggles and noises of content filling the room.
suguru sighs and finally relaxes his body after a stressful morning; the only three people he cares about most now in his arms like desired. he gives nanako and mimiko a kiss on top of their heads, whilst you get your long-waited kiss on your lips. he smiles against your mouth afterwards, pressing his forehead to yours;
“my girls.”

maybe some hcs of ponyboy x soc!reader?
Ponyboy Curtis x Soc!reader head canons ♡

Thank you anon for requesting!! I hope you enjoy reading this!!
Warning: Use of Y/N, kissing, cussing
You guys met in Honors Biology!!
Ponyboy is in honors because he is “the only smart greaser” (what some Socs call him) soooo He is naturally surrounded by Socs!
You both were paired up together for a lab to dissect a worm. Ponyboy pulled out his switch since the razor was dull. Anyways some other soc girl called him a “Hood” and you stuck up for him!!
Y/N picked up the razor and tried cutting open the worm. “Aw man, it doesn't work, I’ll ask Mr. Martin for another razor…” Ponyboy quickly spoke up, wanting to impress Y/N “No no it’s fine, I’ll use my Switch” Ponyboy pulled out his Blade from his back pocket and flicked it open. “You really are a Hood!” their third partner spoke up. “And you’re a whore Marie"
Ever since then Ponyboy fell hard.
Before You and Ponyboy started dating, He would go to Sodapop for advice or even just to talk and rant about his crush on you.
At first, Soda thought it was cute, His kid brother going to him to talk about his little soc crush. Then, Pony couldn’t stop talking about you. All Day Long. Waking up in the Morning, “Soda! Yesterday Y/N told me she wants to hang out at lunch today. WITH ME” At the DX after school, “SODA! Y/N and I walked around the school at lunch and we talked about like everything!”. Going to Sleep in their shared bed, “Omg I can’t wait to see Y/N tomorrow, she looks so pretty in her dresses.”
Okay you get the point. But Soda is rooting for y’all, and when you guys started dating, He was so happy for his little brother.
You guys are absolutely adorable together. Even though most of the Greasers and Socs think it is weird, they know deep down that Y’all are cuties.
You both love reading together. When it is just you two alone, you guys will switch off reading. That is until he’s half asleep.
Ponyboy was laying between Y/N legs, while she laid her back against the headboard of her bed. Pony was reading a chapter of “Gone with the Wind”. Y/N running her fingers with fresh gel manicure through his ungreased hair. “..‘She loved Ashley and she knew she loved him and she had never cared so much as in that instant when she saw Charles disappearing around the curved graveled walk….’ “ As Ponyboy finished reading chapter six, He raised his head to look up at Y/N and gave her a quick peck on her soft lips. “Do you want to keep reading....because I'm close to falling asleep with the way you’re playing with my hair baby..”
Y’all did not read Chapter seven that night.
His brother’s love you. They think that you're a good influence on him. Ponyboy doesn’t understand what they mean by ‘good influence' since he KNOWS he is a good kid but his attitude has changed ever since he met you. (Darry thanks you almost everyday LMAO)
It took a little for the rest of the gang to warm up to you, I mean they didn’t have the best run ins with any Soc. You already knew Johnny from school. You, Ponyboy and Johnny always hung out together during lunch or sometimes after school.
But after a couple weeks of you coming around the gang started to trust you a bit more.
Ponyboy is in love with you 1000%. He can not go a second without thinking about you. He is always wondering how’d he get with a gorgeous Soc like you.
You guys have your little dates either at the drive-in, the dingo, or the city library. Ponyboy loves taking you to one of these three places because you both have the same interest. Movies, Books and Pepsi.
Your parents approve of Pony. They adore him so much. They think of him as a little gentleman. The first time they met him was when he came over for dinner (CUTE!)
Ponyboy knocked on your door, confidently and firmly. He ran his hand over his greased hair to make sure nothing was sticking up. Y/N’s Dad opened the door after a few seconds “Hello Sir, You must be Y/N’s Father” Ponyboy scrambled out, all his confidence flowing away as he stuck out his hand to shake your father’s.
AHHAAH anyways after dinner, your parents pulled you aside and told you that Pony was a sweetheart.
You guys are mostly at his house since Ponyboy doesn’t really like going over to the West Side. You both sneak away to his room to get alone time. (Sneaky Sneaky little teens).
Ponyboy was holding your hand as you both snuck away to his room. You shut the door quietly so no one would hear. After you turned away and Ponyboy pulled you onto the bed. You both laid on your sides to look at each other. “You’re so cute Pone” Y/N giggled as her hand slowly went to cup his cheek. Pony smirked and chuckled. “You're ruining my tough greaser rep.” he said quietly as he leaned in to kiss you.
You guys make out almost every time you guys are alone. I think we kinda forgot that He is a 14-15 year old TEENAGER who has a girlfriend. Anyways you both don’t do anything more because y’all don’t want to do that or risk anything.
You guys don’t really have arguments a lot. But if you guys do, it’s over something stupid. But you are both stubborn.
You are his biggest supporter. Whenever he is at his track meets, you are always sitting on the benches next to his brothers and his gang cheering him on. Pony gets happy that you are cheering for him but tries to cover it nonchalantly by giving y’all a quick nod.
In the end, even though you are a Soc and he is a greaser, you guys don’t let social status get in the way of how you both feel. Overall, your relationship is so adorable and healthy.
(AAAA I hope you guys enjoyed these head canons. This is my first post!! Don't forget to request and i'll try to get most of them done as soon as possible!)

Dads and Fathers | SJ|CJ

Summary: it’s your fathers weekend to look after you but you quickly realise who your dad truly is
Request: Could you do one about Scarlett's daughter with Ryan Reynolds. The daughter is autistic. She is with her dad's but her mom is called when she has a meltdown.
Word Count: 1.8k
Warnings/Content: Some swearing / Autistic meltdown (written from my personal experience with my own autism)
—————————————————————————
“I don’t wanna go” you whined as Scarlett zipped up your backpack “y/n he’s your dad and you know how the custody situation is set up” your mom said. “Why can’t I just see him for a day, I don’t wanna stay overnight” you argued, pulling your bag away from Scarlett’s hold. “Y/n” your mom sighed “please mom, it’s not like you want me to go for the weekend either” you pleaded. “It doesn’t matter what I want” Scarlett said, taking the bag back “and me neither right” you shrugged before storming out of your bedroom. Your mom frowned as her eyes followed you, she knew what your father was like.
Most kids would be thrilled to have the actual Ryan Reynolds as their dad and then gaining Blake Lively as a stepmom, but not you. You were always a mommy’s girl and when you were old enough to realise what your dad had done to your mom, you hated your father for it. Ryan wasn’t truly a bad man but he’d made mistakes and it was evident that he loved and cared for you, but he didn’t truly know you.
“Hey pumpkin” Colin said as he emerged from Cosmos bedroom, having just put the young boy down for his nap. You paused in your journey at looked up at him with water filled eyes “what’s wrong?” Colin asked before you came crashing into his arms. “Hey, hey, hey, what’s happened sweetie?” He questioned, tightening his hold on you. “I don’t wanna go to Ryan’s house this weekend” you mumbled. “Aw kid, c’mon we talked about this huh?” Colin said kindly “you gotta give it a try y/n, if you go in with a negative attitude it’s never gonna work is it? Okay so chin up, he’s your dad right?” He finished. “No, he’s not, you are” you whined, pushing your face into his neck. Colin sighed as he rested his chin atop your head, you basked in the pressure he provided, he knew just what to do to calm you.
All of a sudden, Rose came running down the hallway “daddy Colin my Lego broke!” She screamed. You groaned as the sound invaded your ears, pulling your hands up to cover them. “Rosie sweetheart, Colin will come help you soon okay, go back to your room darling” Scarlett said as she appeared behind the young blonde, giving her a quick peck on the forehead “Come on kid we gotta get going” your mom said, carrying your backpack. You looked up into Colin’s eyes and begrudgingly pulled away. “Did you pack little Natasha?” You asked. “Of course” Scarlett sadly smiled, reminded of your beloved stuffed bear dressed as her iconic character. “Okay” you mumbled, finally ready to leave the safety of your parents. “I’ll see you on Monday kiddo” Colin said.
You were silent the whole journey to your fathers house, you wouldn’t even let Scarlett turn on the radio. All Scarlett wanted to do was turn around and take you home, but she had an agreement with Ryan and like it or not you were his daughter, he had every right to see you. Your leg bounced anxiously as the car rolled to a stop, you could see Blake and her forced smile waiting to greet you. Scarlett passed you you’re things while you were still in the car, she of course wanted nothing to do with Blake. “Got everything?” Your mom asked. “Mhm” you mumbled, struggling to speak. “Okay. I love you” Scarlett smiled, not truly being able to wish that you would have a good weekend.
You felt bad not being able to connect with your mom and hug her goodbye, all you could do was watch the car pull away. “Hey y/n!” Blake falsely cheered as you came up the front path. Your stepmom pulled you into an awkward hug and the feeling made your skin crawl, it wasn’t necessarily her, you just didn’t want to be touched right now. “Your dads just at the store, think he’s grabbing some chocolate ice cream” the woman said, talking to you as if you were no more than 5 years old. “Ok” you hummed, forcing the words. “Why don’t you head up to your room and I’ll call you down when your dad’s back?” Blake said. Your room? Those four walls felt nothing of the sort.
It was a few hours later now, your dad brought back lasagne for dinner and you appreciated the effort to make your favourite meal. “Y/n dinners ready” Ryan called up the staircase. You winced at the sudden voice echoing throughout the walls, you’d told him time and time again that you didn’t like raised voices. You dragged your exhausted body to the end of the bed, making sure to grab little Natasha from your pillow. You padded lightly down the stairs, almost crashing into Blake at the bottom. “Woah watch it y/n” she said. You laughed uncomfortably, not sure if she was joking or not.
You followed the blonde into the dining room, cringing at the clattering of china plates. “Oh for goodness sake y/n” your dad said as he turned around “you’re still dragging that thing around?” He sighed. You followed his eye line down to the brown bear in your arms. You wished he was just annoyed that the stuffie was dressed at black widow (everyone knows how jealous he is of the characters success) but you knew it was something more, he was embarrassed by you. “Sorry, I’ll go put her away” you mumbled. “Good, you’re not sitting at this table with a stupid teddy bear, what are you five?” Ryan snarled.
You fought through dinner with gritted teeth at every scrape of metal against the plates. You desperately craved the familiar softness of your stuffed bear and the distracting sound of Colin’s voice. Your leg was bouncing underneath the table as you struggled to swallow each mouthful of food. Your brain was so loud, it sounded like there were ten thousand conversations happening, when it reality it was just the two voices at the table with you. Everything was too much. Too much sound. Too much light. Too much air. It was all too much.
Scarlett and Colin were enjoying a quiet night together after dropping off their two youngest children at the actress’s moms house. The two were partly focused on a movie while conversing over light day to day topics when Scarlett’s phone began to ring. “Three guesses who” Colin sighed, referring to you and your siblings. The blonde giggled softly before reaching for her mobile “Ryan?” Scarlett asked, confused and worried, it was only in certain situations the two had agreed to talk over the phone. Colin instantly stood to attention when he realised what was most likely happening, he knew you weren’t okay and now he regretted ever letting you go to your fathers.
Scarlett didn’t even wait for the car to stop before she ran out towards Ryan house, only slowing her pace when she wakes through the door. “Where is she?” Your mom asked “dining room” Ryan sighed. Colin finally caught up with his wife as they both came into the dining room. You were huddled in the corner, rocking back and forth slightly “where’s little Natasha?” Scarlett asked, not seeing the bear in your arms as she had expected. “It’s upstairs, she’s not sitting at the table like a three year old with a teddy bear. That’s what all this is about” Ryan gritted. “What the hell is wrong with you?” Colin huffed as he left to retrieve your bear.
“sweetheart” your mom cooed quietly, her heart broke as you flinched back slightly. “What actually happened, she’s never like this” Scarlett angrily whispered, walking back over to her ex husband. “I don’t know! She’s been in a mood since she got here and now she’s acting like a baby, she just wants attention” Ryan shrugged. “She’s autistic Ryan! How many times have we gone through this” Scarlett said, calming herself before returning to your side.
Colin came back into the room, little Natasha in his arms “I packed her bag” he said. “Oh hell no this is my weekend!” Ryan shouted, causing you to whimper from the corner. “I don’t care, if you can’t look after her properly then I’m taking my daughter home” Colin said. “Your daughter!” Blake chimed in. “Stop it!” You cried. “It’s ok sweetie, we’re going home, come on” Scarlett said, helping you to stand.
You sat in Scarlett’s lap in the back seat on the way home, she was lightly scratching your scalp while squeezing you gently in her arms. The exhaustion of your meltdown finally caught up with you and you fell asleep a few blocks away from your house. Colin opted to carry you back inside, he took you straight up to your bedroom while Scarlett grabbed your things. Your mom made sure your room was safe for when you woke up, she unplugged all the electronics and pulled down the black out blinds, she put your safe playlist on her phone and switched on your sensory light.
“Come here babe” Colin said with an outstretched arm, attempting to calm Scarlett’s frantic pacing. Your mom sighed as he sat on the bed, close to you but not too close. “She told me she didn’t wanna go. Why did I make her go?” The blonde whispered. “It’s not your fault babe” Colin said, tightening his grip on her hand. “I have to fix this for her” Scarlett sighed “we will, I promise” Colin sadly smiled. Your mom leant over and moved little Natasha bellow your chin, allowing more air to flow through your lungs.
It was around 30 minutes later when you woke up and you were instantly settled by the company of your parents. “Hey sweetie” Colin whispered, attempting to gauge how you were feeling. “Hi dad, hi mama” you mumbled. It was a good sign that you were verbal, your parents had got to you just in time. “I’m sorry you had to come, you were supposed to be enjoying your night” you frowned. “Hey, no, no, no, nothing is more important to us than you and your siblings okay. You needed us, so we came” Scarlett said, lightly brushing your hair. “Why doesn’t he understand me?” You cried, talking about your father. “I don’t know baby” your mom said.
You looked up to Colin with sad eyes “why isn’t he like you? I wish you were my dad” you sniffled. “I am your dad sweetie” Colin frowned with a questioning look, you had never disputed that he was your dad before. “Will you adopt me?” You suddenly asked on a whim. “Is that what you want?” Colin asked, you nodded weakly in response. “Then of course I will baby” your dad said, pulling you into a tight hug. “Looks like we have a lot to talk about” Scarlett smiled, shuffling closer to both of you. “I’m gonna call Ryan in the morning and we’re gonna sort out when he gets to see you, then I’m calling my lawyer because Colin’s your dad play” your mom smiled. “Okay” you whispered, pulling both of your parents into a tight cuddle.

Cousin Love

Our Story Masterlist Summary: Freddie meets Grace.
Based on this request.
With Freddie living in America with his Mum majority of the year, YN and Harry would try to fly out and visit as much as they could. But having a newborn and trying to find their path in parenthood, meant it wasn’t that easy to go and see their nephew as often.
They would love for Freddie to meet Grace, as FaceTime just wasn’t enough. But with Louis’ work schedule, it wasn’t possible. So YN accepted that weekly FaceTimes would have to do until they could fly out to the US.
The Styles family were having a quiet morning, allowing the time to slip by as they ate breakfast together, drank cups of tea and coffee, and importantly had lots of cuddles on the sofa.
The buzzer to the outside gate, caught their ears as they wondered who unexpectedly was dropping byHarry was surprised when he saw Louis’ face on the camera, not realising he was back in London.
“It’s Louis!” Harry called to YN letting her know her brother was here.
“Oh! It’s Uncle Louis”. Grace lovingly stared up at her mother, taking in everything she was saying.
Harry pressed the button to allow Louis in. Then opened the front door to wait for his arrival. But the sound of two voices, and a particular American accent caught his ears. Before he could ask any questions, Freddie ran towards him.
“Uncle Harry!”. He was quick to scoop the younger boy up into his arms and squeezing him tight to his chest.
“I’ve missed you little man!”. Freddie wrapped his arms around Harry’s shoulders, still hugging him tight. “But I know someone who’s missed you more”.
“Auntie YN!”.
Harry led Louis and Freddie to where YN and Grace were in the large cosy living area. “Auntie YN…guess who I’ve found!”.
YN’s eyes almost popped out at the sight of her oldest nephew in her husbands arms. She jumped up from her place and opened her arms wide for him. “Freddie!”.
Freddie ran towards her and almost tackled her as he wrapped his arms around her, YN’s arms doing the same. “I’ve missed you Auntie YN!”.
“Not as much as I’ve missed you my boy!”. She didn’t want to let go but there was someone else who YN wanted Freddie to meet. Grace was laying on a large Playmat, small toys surrounding her. “Freddie this is little Grace…and Grace this is your big cousin Freddie”.
Louis watched as he sat on the sofa, his son gently holding onto Grace’s hand as he softly spoke to her. Picking up some of the toys around her to play with her. Trying his best to make her smile as he made silly faces.
“Why does she look like you?”. Freddie asked YN who was still sat next to him. Harry let out a chuckle at the question, something they get told regularly is that Grace is the image of YN.
“The same reason you look like your Dad”. YN explained, as she glanced at Louis. “The Tomlinson genes are just too strong”.
“You can say that again”. Harry sent YN a cheeky smirk.
Freddie had spent most of the morning by Grace’s side, knowing he may not see her for a while again. He was laid to down next to her on the large blanket, his little finger rubbing down her nose gently as her eyes grew tired.
Harry had gone to the kitchen to prepare them all lunch. But YN was now sat next to Louis as he swung his arm around her shoulder for a sibling cuddle. They watched their babies together, watching in awe at how loving and gentle Freddie was being with Grace.
“Why do I feel like we’re having a glimpse of what we were like as kids?”. YN asked as her eyes saw Freddie gently place a small blanket back over Grace who had kicked it off.
Louis smiled finding the loving moment between the cousins sweet. “Because you are…I literally adored you as a baby…well I still do, you’re just a bit more annoying now”. Louis teased.
“Hey!”.
“I’m joking…I can’t wait to see all our kids grow up together like we did”. Louis smiled.
“Family full of love!”.

Chapters: pt1 pt3 pt4
4 months. That's how long Leon kept you in his hell of a house. From being the freest soul on earth, doing whatever you wanted to be kept in a single room with nothing but a bed, and a window.
You learned one or two things about him during the months of “rest” as he says. If you willingly participate in his role-playing scenario, he lets you roam around the house freely with him as a tour guide.
The deep dark circle below your eyes was slowly turning to the same color your cheeks were. During the day you didn't have to feel like a failure, like you always did, whether it was in school, university, or work.
You hated to admit it, but his house seemed like an escape from your busy life. Even if most people would either pity you or see an opportunity to step on you like killing an insect after learning of your past, something about it seemed familiar. Almost as if you wanted to go back to your old life before Leon kidnapped you. Your old life was the escape from your current situation
“Fine,” you thought just before your consciousness went back to remember your accomplishments in life. You're not the kind of person who lies to themselves. You had a pretty hard life. Especially your childhood, which gave you an unhealable wound that would last a lifetime.
Now thinking, it was a silly dream of you to think you would be a famous singer. You sang well, maybe when you were 10, you had to toughen up for the harsh life.
But seriously. How many people become surgeons from a girl who had nothing but a public school education? Do people think it was easy to get a full-ride scholarship? Maybe to some rich kids with ties. But even with words, no one could explain the pain you went through to get here. Just for a random old guy to steal everything you had, just like your mom.
“Oh. Her?” You chuckled to yourself causing Leon to turn in your direction while he typed something on his computer.
She stole you from a good childhood, your first boyfriend, and almost your only chance of escaping her, scholarship. The bitch tried to hide your letters from you, lucky you to have a mother like this. Fortunately, you found them under her bed while she was passed out on the couch 2 days before the due date to respond. And to even think about the time you caught her sleeping with your first boyfriend.
Hope both of them are burning in hell.
All of this suffering, even your mother's failure in becoming a parent could have ended with a simple procedure. But no. Your mom decided to keep a baby she knew she couldn't love and take care of. Hell. You don't even know who your dad was. Or what he looked like.
“What are you smiling at? Baby” Leon came to interrupt your bitter thoughts, pushing back your hair behind the ear.
You stared at him like a beaten cat. Leon was proud of how far you came. From cursing and yelling every second to being calm around him was a big deal to the man.
“You're a happy baby? Is it me? Am I making you happy?” Leon smiled, giving you showers of kisses on your neck, lips, and cheek.
“Yeah,” you replied sarcastically, going back to thinking about yourself.
“Aw, don't be like that. You know daddy does everything to make you happy” Leon said, laying you on the bed, starting to kiss your neck again.
Leon's smile turned to a grin as he saw his angel giggling happily. He slowly crept his hand under your shirt, squeezing a breast in one hand while the other worked to cup your cunt.
“Fuck. What-” you started, the zoning out session interrupted again. As his tongue entered your mouth, you kissed him back out of the habit you developed for the last few months.
“Shh. Daddy got you” he said, pulling away to throw off his shirt before doing the same to yours. His breath hitched as he took in the scene before him. Your two perky nipples reveal themselves to his hungry eyes. He took one in his wet mouth causing you to breathe out heavily.
“Leon-”
He pulled away quickly, raising his eyebrow at you.
“Who?” He muttered. His dear dove rolled her eyes and whispered a nickname he gave himself.
“Louder baby. Daddys can't hear you when you talk like a mouse” he chuckled.
“How much do you want to humiliate me??” You yelled out in weeks for the first time. Leon signed as he realized he had to come to reality to face the truth. The blonde wanted so badly to believe his darling stopped this phase of rage.
“Baby, if you keep acting like a spoiled brat, I would have no choice but to spank you. I know how much you hate it” Leon says calmly.
You thought about the situation for a few seconds before deciding getting spanked was more humiliating.
“Daddy,” you said silently before hiding your face in the pillow.
Leon turned you around and started pulling down the shorts you wore along with your cotton underwear.
Just get it over with.
Leon immediately started to slurp at your cunt before gently biting your clit.
“You were a bad girl today. You know how bad girls get it right?” he says as he pulls down his jeans. Leon groaned as his hard cock slammed against his belly. “Open your eyes, baby,” he says as he lays on top of you.
You hesitantly opened one of your eyes before doing the same to the other, not wanting to get Leon angry.
Around 2 months ago, he slapped you so hard you felt sore in your mouth for 2 days. At the time you felt good causing him pain, even if you got the price. Unfortunately, the price was learning to never bite his dick, or you get slapped across the cheek so hard you fall on the floor.
As you popped your pretty eyes to him, he lined his cock to your entrance, guiding it up and down. The simulation makes both of the pair groan. Leon smirked as he felt slick forming around his dick, making slick sounds.
“No fingering since you were a bad girl. And what bad girls get?” Leon groaned as his tip twitched.
“No prep” you gasped as he pushed it all in one push. Your hands on his chest tried to push him back, causing Leon to lock your hands above your head.
Leon soon started moving, at a pace he felt pleasure. Today was not about you, you needed to learn your lesson. His dove wriggled while moaning.
“Feels good doesn't it? You just gotta ask daddy” Leon groaned as your legs wrapped around his torso.
“D-Daddy…” you whined as he rubbed your clit furiously. The man groaned loudly as you clenched around him, almost making him see stars.
Leon increased his thrusts as his dove started to moan louder than before. Clenching like your life depended on it.
“Daddy… i-im I'm gonna c-cummm” you whined before gushing all over Leon's dick.
“Bad girl. Who allowed you to finish?” he barked, slapping your clit causing you to squirt. He groaned in satisfaction, the feeling of your come with the whine that came out of you, popping the pressure in his lower belly.
You could feel the warm, liquid seeds flowing inside you.
For the past few hours, you figured the nostalgia you had in mind is not the one most people think it is. You were so used to getting shitty treatments, you started treating yourself like shit. You can't even think of a nice memory without someone stabbing your back.
“Dove, the breakfast is ready. Daddy made you your favorite.” Leon grinned as he placed a plate with some salad and yogurt.
He affectionately stroked your tears-stained cheeks. You sat on the chair, if anyone saw you, they would have thought you didn't have a spine.
You gave up. It was your last breakdown. You promised yourself, that no matter what happens, you are going to go back into your life. Even if it was shitty. You can change the coming events to go back. The future. It was your last hope. For yourself.
But again, it wasn't even clear if you would make it out alive. It was either you kill yourself or giving in to his dreams. If Leon manages to get you to obey his wishes, you will lose yourself. The only thing that you have, your achievements. You loved your career too much to end it like this. All those sufferings can not be meaningless like this. If you have to give up, you should at least try to be free.
Leon noticed the change of attitude you had, from barking at his face or ignoring him completely, you were being a good girl. Helping him clean up the house, letting him kiss you without resistance, and following his rules.
“Daddy… can I… have orange juice…” you muttered, trying not to be embarrassed. Leon's smile grew upon hearing you correctly address him. He pats your head gently before kissing your temple.
Pouring some natural juice he chose at the store in the plastic cup so that his dove can't harm anyone in the process of dining.
You took the cup and sipped the juice as Leon stared at you. Maybe it was time to get to know him more. At least who he was.
“Daddy… Can I ask you something?” You mumbled silently. Leon raised his eyebrows in response. What possibly could his angel be asking him about?
“Yeah… What is it?” Leon asked cautiously, he can't let you know unnecessary details of this evil world filled with a bunch of monsters.
“Um… I… what… what do you… like?” You muttered. You thought getting to know him was easy, asking a few questions and done. Your pathway to freedom, aka your life. It was stupid to ask about his personal life all of a sudden after you didn't give a single shit about him for more than 4 months.
Leon narrowed his eyes, the question was fine but the way you worded it seemed suspicious to him.
“What do I like? About what baby?” Leon asked as he turned his back to you while cleaning the counter as an excuse.
“Um… just what you like to do,” you said while sipping your juice. Why were you so awkward? The real you didn't hesitate to say shit in front of anyone about them. But now you were scared of what he would think of you.
“I love taking care of you, love. Now sleep. It's your bedtime” he smiled as his fingers tapped on his watch indicating 9 pm.
